I bought my A5 Wacom Intuos new back then (in 2002? Or 2005? Anyway nearly 20 years ago!) for like under $100? Still rocking! Huion wasn't even a company back then! And Huion (for what they offer vs. how MUCH they demand) -can- will be replaced by some sub $50 chinese tab company soon. But NOT Wacom! Because it's a real deal! Unlike bloated overpriced software (Adobe, I'm looking at YOU!) Ditched Adobe for open source / free / cheap alternative software long ago. Serif, Canvas, Xara, Gimp, Inkscape, Scribus etc.

Honest, simple, short and smart! <3 thank you very much (Not a lot of people know how to tell what needs to be told and don't miss the subject in the process or get to much inside themselves if anybody get what I'm saying ;) instead of staying objective and cohesive and concrete :))

The first WACOM tablet I had was large. I constantly had to reach out too far, back and forth, to draw and was giving myself sore back and shoulders, so I had to reduce the usable area down to the medium-size area anyway. I don't use the express keys, but I'll have to upgrade my old 2009-model Intuos soon, since WACOM won't be supporting it much longer.

save up to get a display? no thanks. far too expensive.. and i have lost so much trust in wacom because of the quality and lifespan. I had a wacom for 20 years once.. and then had to replace it in 2013 .. then again in 2016 .. then that one went bad.. in 2018 .. i replaced it with a cheap HUION bec honestly.. i don't have the cash to be flying thru 300 and 500 dollar products.. i mean really..

My brother has bought 2 Huion; the 680tf on 2017 and a 1060plus in 2019. The first one the stylus stoped working so he bought a new one and he still working with the 1060plus. Me on the other hand have 2 Wacom: Intuos draw small on 2017 and Intuos M on 2023. mine still work, but my only advice is that regardless of the brand pick a good size, if my Intuos Draw was a Medium size, I would never have bought the Intuos M.

I used a Wacom intuos Draw small for 6 years and I was like "well, I know I can do better with a medium size tablet" And a couple of month ago, the Intuos medium was on 60% discount (unfortunately the intuos pro wasn't on a crazy discount like this one) and wow. Medium size is really an improvement for me, I was able to move my arm no problem (and avoid carpal tunnel!) The pressure sensitivity is good, but no one is going to notice how many you have, you only notice how much you pressure the pen. I'm happy with my Intuos M, but I still dream for a pro version 😅

Thank you for taking time to like and comment. It is really appreciated. Specs were not reviewed because the thinking was the user knows what they want but is not sure if they should get that certain model. For example when I bought the pro model I was unsure if it would be money wasted (have it and use it 12 years later). So I was breaking up into where a person's artistic level would be. I got the Huion Inspiroy 2 M and I enjoy it way more than I ever did with my entry-level Wacom. It’s possibly the larger size. This tablet with Adobe Fresco is awesome. But, the video is correct, get what you can and draw constantly. It helped me to really start with a pencil and a sketch pad. The reasons: I could take it anywhere; just could sit down with a book and follow instruction; there was less friction - I could just sit down and do a lesson anytime I wanted.

@SteneArtStudios
@SteneArtStudios Жыл бұрын
Hi Andre, Firstly, Thank you so much for watching my video and taking time to comment, it is really appreciate. That is said with all sincerity. In regards to which is better, my goal was to recommend a tablet for people at different levels or commitment levels. Neither tablet is "better". I believe in this video I'm stating that if you have a child or you are someone that just wants to "dabble" in digital art but not sure what you want to do to get the Wacom Intuos to save some money. However if you have a child or are an artist and you know "YES! I want to draw, YES I want to learn to digitally draw, I LOVE THIS AND WILL NEVER STOP!" Then treat yourself and get the Wacom Intuos Pro. You won't regret it. I still use my old Intuos4 from 2010 from time to time. In the end it is not the piece of equipment that makes a person a good artist, we (Including myself) fall into that trap so many times. I have some many paint tubes and brushes because Jeremy Lipking uses this paint, Ryan Woodward uses this pencil, Terryl Witlatch uses a basic BIC .05 cheapo mechanical pencil. The idea is, understand and be honest to yourself about what level you want to be at and get the according tablet to save money. That is my goal, help you to save money and not get to much or a tablet. There are so many videos that go over the technical piece, I was looking to be a little different to speak to "save money, what is your passion level, get tablet 'X'." Hope that helps. Again thank you so much for watching and commenting, it is so appreciated. Have a great week. 🎨🌊🤙

@@SteneArtStudios Thank you for the answer. I came to your video because I'm thinking of "downgrading" from a cintiq to an intuos and I was shocked that the pro version costs twice as much as the regular intuos and the only differences I find are the pressure levels and some extra buttons. Two features that I honestly find useless, never use the shortcut buttons on the tablets and 4K pressure levels are more than enough. I think I'll go for the trusty regular intuos

Thank you for your help in deciding on a device. I'm a below-average and starting Digital artist. Drawing on a screen like my Ipad felt too slippery, even with a paperlike/matte screen, or using a 22-inch Display Tablet. I felt my hand and pen are in the way, clumsy, or hesitant if my art is good. But when I invested in an Intuos Pro Medium, I felt like my body is back to basic and is in sync with the device. My back felt good, I can carry the Intuos Pro without the need for cluttering wires with the use of Bluetooth. And, I can airdrop my art back and forward on my Macbook and Ipad back and forward when I needed it. Wish me luck.

For me it mattered. I grabbed a huion and it just felt off for some reason. Returned it and took a leap of faith with spending so much money on the wacom. Yeah it’s not going to make you a better artist. But the wacom does make me want to work on art a lot more because it does feel overall better. Granted maybe if I would have spent $300 on a huion equivalent model I’d feel the same way about it, but it was actually that model you showed in the video that was $80.

That's the thing about Wacom. It doesn't get in the way. Will this matter for most people? If you are a hobbyist doing it a few hours a week. Not really. But if you are doing it a few hours a day, you are going to notice things and it might be worth it to safe up some more for the Wacom. I am a compositor/assistant editor by trade so I don't really know how to draw. But even then I noticed the difference. That doesn't make Huion a bad product. Especially for those prices. It just means that you are getting a bit more of a premium product for a premium price.
@SteneArtStudios

Hi Anne, Thank you so much for watching the video and taking time to comment. It means a lot and helps the channel out tremendously! I agree with you, I feel Wacom is a superior product. The goal of the video is to say, "As an artist, it is not about the piece of equipment." I have seen digital painters put amazing art together on first gen iPad with no pressure sensitivity before ProCreate was developed. I have seen animators use Intuos 2 with limited pen sensitivity. In the end XP Pen, Huion, Wacom do all the same thing and it doesn't matter which one an artist prefers, it comes down to the artist. You are 100% correct, you can notice the difference in the products and it doesn't make another bad. It just means you are getting a premium product. Appreciate your comment and the time you put in to watch and respond. Have a great week! 😁🎨🌊🤙

why everyone thinks that if you get something more expensive, that makes you better professional, all the studios (and the biggest ones) in the last ten years use the cintiq 22hd like spa studio, fortiche, pixar etc. and the discussion around 4k and hd resolution is complete nonsense. First of all, all professionals and studios use two monitors (to see their work) and secondly, no one works at full scale, so I don't understand why HD resolution is such a big problem if you have the ability to zoom in

No, not really. It doesn't matter. It's really about your drawing skills as you said. If "light touch" is an issue, then nothing beats traditional. Draw with a traditional tool and take a picture of it and bring it into your favorite drawing app. I love traditional and frankly digital isn't as "sensitive" as traditional, but it's more than good enough if you have the right drawing techniques.

Just a little pivot point to add. It’s not brand but form factor that can impact productivity (still nothing to do with skill). Just starting out it won’t matter, but as you start doing paid work then using something small versus large or no display over a display does matter. Just like using Krita versus Clip Studio. Clip Studio gives me vector line art and fill tools that make me more productive.

Hi Joseph, Thank you for watching the video and taking time to comment. 😁 I 100% agree with you on small v large or going to a display.
