I had the good fortune to have an office overlooking the harbour back in 2000 and 2001. Twice a day, year-round, I would be able to watch this wonderful "ballet" performance by both Silja and Viking ferries. Once when they arrived in the morning and when they departed in the afternoon.

thanks for the report. what time was your excursion? I doubt that in the morning there is no option to return by bus to the new port. did you book on the ship or in advance?

We left the ship about mid-afternoon, almost as soon as we docked in Santorini and the ship leaves Santorini about in about 11pm..we booked this really well in advance, because these seem to be popular and the places filled up quickly... this is of course a fairly reasonably priced excursion

@@kuffadronethank you! Great video, lots of great info. We just booked the same excursion with bus transfer but scheduled for the 4pm departure. 90 minutes does seem short for Oia. May I ask what a few questions: -where did the bus drop you off/pick up in Oia? Same place? -what time did you return to the boat after exploring Fira? TIA!

Yes, off/pick up is from the same place.. it's about a 5-10 min walk to the Church of Panagia. You can see the place if you look at Oia - Tour buses on google maps. There is a parking area. For us, the return started by bus about an hour after we arrived in Fira. But there was an option to stay in Fira and return to the ship yourself using the cable ride.. The guide distributes the tickets. But, I can promise that, the guide will give good instructions during the bus trip. You are sure to have a great day in Santorini.

You definitely have the option to return to the ship using the bus..as we did. the only downside is that your time in Fira is quite short.

Building was a Azabudai Hills Mori JPTower. There is a sky restaurant / cafe.. and I used iPhone 15 Pro Max + Insta 360 x3.. + monorail videos were shot with a Samsung phone.

Pakettien pakkomyynti taitaa olla tapauskohtaista. Meille ei kukaan tuputtanut yhtään mitään MSC Seascapella tammikuussa. Emme myöskään kokeneet Muster Drilliä kovinkaan hankalaksi, hytissä piti tosin olla ruudun ääressä, mutta sen jälkeen pikaisesti koko kööri rappusia pitkin kokoontumispaikalle, hyttikorttien skannaukset ja homma ohi viidessä minuutissa. Kuulutusten osalta juuri noin ja meillä oli vielä MSC:llä äänessä kiljuva italiainen kapteeni, tosin hyvät naurut niistä höpötyksistä sai. Asiakaspalvelun osalta emme huomanneet juurikaan eroa, ehkäpä hyttityyppi palveli Caribbeanilla henkilökohtaisemmin. Jos sellaista nyt juro suomalainen kaipaa... Caribbean ehkä enemmän aikuisempaan makuun myös hinnoittelun osalta.

Muster drill ei ole sekava, kun malttaa sen 5min kuunnella mitä pitää tehdä, mutta valitettavasti joka kerta laivaan mahtuu niitä, ketkä ei tajua tehdä niitä, niin sitten niitä kuulutellaan yksitellen tekemään se... ja noi kuulutukset oli ekat päivät jees, mutta ehkä risteilyn vikoina päivinä rupesi tulee korvista. Totta tuokin että, Suomalaiselle asiakaspalvelu tuntuu msc:llä jopa kotoisalle,.. 😂 mehän ei mitään ylimäärästä kaivata... mutta meidän aikaisempaan Royal risteilyyn nähden niin on siinä iso ero. Kollegani oli Seascapella myös ja he tykkäsi siitä paljon, toki heidän aikaisemmat risteily kokemukset on ollut Ruotsin & Tallinnan matkat, niin ei ihme että... kokemus saattoi olla hieman erilainen. 😆

Silja Line was my first sea trip from Finland to Sweden many decades ago. I am happy to see Silja is sailing with beautiful new ships like the Serenade. Viking Line ships looked small next to it 😃
