Thunder and Lightning 1977 is one of my all time favorite movies of all time. I remember watching this scene long time. David Carradine, Kate Jackson, and Charles Willeford played a great character and I will never forget watching this good old films.

People in the entertainment industry always get it wrong, blaming McCarthy for blacklisting members of the Hollywood set. McCarthy went after people who had ties to the Communist Party and who employed in government. Those folks who were blacklisted were investigated by the House Unamerican Activities Committee (HUAC).

I remember watching a 1988 documentary about Jack the Ripper. The show was live & hosted by Sir Ustinov. It was absolutely fascinating (as everything he did was). The documentary is on KZbin. I can't recommend it enough.

Great interview. Spartacus is a great film, the best epic because of no religion and no preaching, with a brilliant script and wonderful cast.

I remember an awards show from childhood--could have been Oscars. MC maybe Bob Hope--said something to the effect of "what can we expect from someone whose initials are P.U.?...ladies and gentlemen, please welcome Peter A. Ustinov." That may have been 60 years ago, and it stuck with me all this time.

I grew up watching Peter Ustinov as Agatha Christie's genius detective Hercule Poirot in the 1980s on cable TV, in films like Death on the Nile and Evil Under the Sun, and made for TV movies like Thirteen at Dinner and Dead Man's Folly. R I P.

I worked as an animal handler on a disney film with Ustinov and he was the only "talent" who acted like a human being. He didn't hide in his trailer but just came out and sat with the rest of us for meals. A mensch.

I understand and use all the words Ustinov uses. Somehow, though, they don't have his eloquence when I use them. Truly amazing mind. I could listen to him forever.
