I want to do what you did building a small block with carb and efi distributor at first on the engine stand , I'm thinking that I want to run all OEM alternator, power steering pump , tensioner, harmonic balancer and pulley , water pump . The reason being is if one of these components fail I want to be able to get a replacement from a junk yard or get a OEM replacement from the dealership. I worry that if I buy like a fancy aluminum water pump from Jegs or summit maybe they mount up different and so I would be required to buy a replacement from Jegs or Summit, I'm thinking that there brackets might be different. The parts at the pick n pull are plentiful

Hello from Romania 🇷🇴 Long story short if you can have some direct info and recomandations would be great. I have a 1993 5.7 LT1 Camaro 💪🤠 And i have another 3.8 camaro from 1997. And i whant to swap that LT1 in the 3.8 because that one has a better body and has proper papers to be driven. But i also whant to carb swap it, why ? Because of the Optispark! Its a verry simple budget build and i have some questions. What does that engine needs to run from EFI to carburator?! After some internest searching i know they have that GMP Chevrolet Perfomance intake that bolts right up on the LT1 for a carb swap. I need a carb obviously, like a 650 CFM, a hei distribuitor, wires and plugs, starter, alternator, water pump, radiator, and what or how many ground wires ? I have i think 700r transmission, it has that tv cable ans 16 bolt patern for the oil pan, at least thats what people say on the internet. I know i need a manual valve body for it to change the gears. Is the 3.8 K mbemer the same for these cars ? From 3.8 v6 to 5.7 v8 ? ( Personal i think they are ) And what can i use for gauges ? Simple stuff nothing Corvette fancy 😅. Well if you have some time to give me some advice in this build i would apreciate it ! GOD BLESS FROM ROMANIA 🇷🇴✝️🇺🇸

On the starter panel the wire comes in at the toggle switch it moves to number 3 on the starte button a it goes out from number 4 to the solenoid. Not sure ,make sure the button has fire to transfer to the the solenoid, then make sure the solenoid is transferring power the the starter which is the little terminal that has the letter "s" on the starter .a light tester would help.u might have it on the wrong terminal on starter or it's jst not throwing fire to it .

I have a sbc and am confused where the ground is on the starter. I have the main power two smaller bolts across from each other another smaller bolt below that and one long bolt that attaches from the silinoid to the starter. There isn't another big bolt like you have for the ground.

I tried starting the engine and it won't do anything. I have the power wire going to the big bolt on the solenoid and I tried hooking the slinoid wire to either of the small bolts. I'm using one of those race car push button panels. It lights up and I'm able to turn the fan on. I hooked the ground cables to the frame and the batterie ground.

I have been looking for a video like this. Maybe you can help me! My son and I are rebuilding a 1983 GMC k1500. He had the motor machined and we rebuilt it to a 383 stroker. we have added Holley EFI complete system and Mid mount accessory drive. Is the mid mount accessory drive what you have on this engine? We are rookies and are learning as we go but we are scared to death to mess up his engine when we start it for the 1st time. We have the engineer and transmission already married up and mounted to the restored frame. No body at all so everything is accessible. What did you do regarding water pump, AC compressor and power steering pump? in regards to fluids and such. Thank you so much for sharing this video.

@@w8e0s6t it is basically a brand new guts in the old block. New everything. pistons, rings, cam shaft, roller rockers, billet valve covers, hedman hedders, etc. we got the new radiator coming tomorrow so we can connect the it all up including the transmission lines. We also rebuilt the whole TH400 transmission ourselves. So the plan is to add fluids and to make sure we don't have any leaks. My main concern is the power steering pump and the AC compressor. It worries me running those without have the systems installed, but I don't have any idea how I would bypass them. I saw where you were building this engine to put into a C10. How did it go?
