@@looking_glass2022 yup and you need to make servers as obv for systemlink, you need internet for Netplay unless the compat list states no servers are required for systemlink which the game can work fine without internet I assume

@@Fanaticalight I think the friends stuff is broken for some games on newer builds so try doing systemlink for now till Adrian fixes it. you can try asking Adrian in the discord why it's bugging out.

Hey, having issues. Wanted to join my friend in a Gears of War 3 group through Netplay, and as far we are aware we followed the steps correctly, but whenever either of us try joining the other it just says the connection to host failed.

I have noted that using WSASendTo isn't entirely stable with games like minecraft. (also in that same footage, my friend's game did crash after i joined him for a bit.)

Thanks for this guide, it is perfect and easy. Just one note, in the WebServices repo, there is the docker compose that for the server side, should be able to set everything up without installing node and mongodb only by using docker containers.

@@robinmoretto160 well that's what Adrian (owner of the repo) said to do on the discord. "Also if you want to use docker, you need to use a nginx reverse proxy on host PC, template is in src/nginx/nginx.conf" is what he said so do whatever you want with that information.

How to enable xbox live for my account? I have already have an account and save datas from xenia canary but it seems like I can only enable xbox live when I am creating a brand new account?

@@liplepeoberty5815 try right clicking the profile from canary you ported and convert it into an xbox live one but the XUID may mess up. if that doesn't work then you have to make a whole new account for Netplay, you can copy your save data, DLCs and updates from your Canary profile which will work for most games but not all.

@AleNaz trying this with Gears 2 - just trying to do system link, can ping each other on radmin no problem, other player can see my session in 'join co-op game - system link' within the game, but it seems to time out when they try to join - npm start in cmd window (ran as admin) gives error when they try to join: "Defaulting to public slot, then, Failed to join session ae00xxxx..., etc. was not found." *Gear 2 reports when trying to join after a minute: "lost connection to host"

I've tried it with three different computers (over eight hours, trying different ideas). The same thing happens every time. They can see the hosted match but can't join; it just says "connection lost" after 20+ seconds. I'm wondering if this worked when the video was released, with a specific build.

Had the same issue, figured out that the setup.bat that needs to run needs to be in the webservices folder, otherwise while its setting up the setup cmd prompt just errors out and closes. Dont do what I did and download the bat and run it in your download folder. It is supposed to be .env and not env.env

If a game is marked as successfully tested locally at the netplay compatibility page, does that mean I can skip the whole Local Server Setup step of the video and just do the Host & Client Config Setup step?

No, you still need servers for games that fall into one of the following categories: Tested Locally Only Local Systemlink (Servers required, usually marked with a warning sign) The only games that don't require servers are those that are confirmed to work publicly or those using Systemlink. These are typically marked with a check and a note stating they don't need servers.
