Has anyone tried replacing the speaker in this model to improve the sound? Or is the sound file itself not good enough to sound better with a different speaker?

The tables are not connected to each other. They're on a concrete floor - never had a problem with them moving or shifting.

Sir, I know I can deaden the sound of the train using cork roadbed and homasote, but what about superstreet tracks? Is there anything that can be used to deaden the sound from the cars on the superstreet? Thank you for your time Sincerely Allan
@allanmartinez11906 ай бұрын
Hello Sir, I have been watching for awhile some of your earlier videos and your current videos I'm very impressed with your work. I Love the way you incorporate both the running of both the road and rail track the same time. I have a question about your elevated track. Did you ever do a video on the making of the concrete elevated track from design to operation? I have no experience in model railroading, but I'm willing to learn how so my layout can one day look as good as as yours. That will take years to accomplish. What is the difference between the super street and the easy street layouts? Are they interchangeable and can I run more than one car at a time on the street? In other words if I have a small town in my layout and I'm using the super street system can I have several cars on its own circuit running each direction with blocks as intersections on the road with stoplights to control the flow of traffic would that be possible? Do you think that super street or easy street makes such a system so I can have my automobiles cross the railroad tracks while the track is clear? Since the railroad has blocks for the trains to stop and go! Can the same be done placing blocks in the intersection of all streets as well as crossing the tracks before a train arrives at a crossing gate? I'm sorry this turned out to be a little confusing, but Thank you for your time I hope this could become a reality. Sincerely Allan

That's a Beautiful layout! One thing that I noticed , as a neewbie; it's rare, I've noticed is the cost of the layout, is never discussed. I guess it falls under the category; if you have to ask, then maybe another hobby is what you should think about. It's really and truly a wonderful hobby to have though.

Lemme correct your correcting, O gauge means semi-scale usually between 1:53 - 1:64. O scale means 1:48 proportions

Great Layout. Enjoyed your use of a Wye on the top loop. You could easily convert the bottom reversing loop to include a figure 8 in your bottom oval and be able to reverse trains in two directions. My small 027 layout has an oval and figure 8 in one loop and double dog bone in the other, both allowing reversing in two directions with a Wye between the two main outside loops for a whole lot of reversing. kzbin.info/door/45cQFSQMyx-Jebd18x7UWw Charlie

I can't thank you enough for posting this. I have Lionel trestle for my 12x10 layout (which I am in the process of laying out) and intend to run an elevated track with a Carrera digital slot car track running on the table below. I am still looking for layout ideas and that wood you used gave me a GREAT inexpensive idea as how to get the Menards train depot that I have up to the train track. Again I cant thank you enough for posting this.

Hi Brent, I love your videos and the landscaping tips you share, especially directing us to Clever Models. I like all of yours and enjoyed seeing the closeups of the interiors was a treat this morning. Unfortunately, I can't vote for one since they are all so nicely done! I do remember a fairly recent video wherein you showed us the locomotive shop you'd built out of card stock. Way, way cool!

Very nice build. I see the Silver City tool shed in that scene as well. I just downloaded the Silver City tool shed and as soon as my supplies get here, I plan to build that one as well. So far I've completed 2 card stock models in HO scale for my HO railroad. Now that I've acquired enough Lionel 027 I'm beginning to build O scale card stock models. Cheers from an old modeler in eastern TN

This model is no longer available at Clever Models. The new freebie is the Silver City tool shed and Haunted House in O scale along with a signal tower in HO and O scale. This video is 3 years old. When they offered the Taylor's General store I downloaded it and built it for my HO scale. I also downloaded another house in HO scale and built it. You did an excellent job on the Ice House especially cutting it out free handed. Now I'm beginning to do some O scale as I got enough Lionel 027 to start a layout. Cheers from eastern TN

I've built 2 card stock models for HO scale I got years ago from the free ones on Clever Models. It was a house and the Taylor's General store. I learned how to add relief to the models. They came out better than I had anticipated. Now that I have enough Lionel 027 I'm beginning to model in O scale. I've downloaded the free ones from Clever Models, a signal tower in HO and O scale, the O scale Haunted House and the O scale Silver City tool shed. Can't wait to get started but have to wait for a couple items to get here, i.e., the toothpaste squeezer from Amazon to add the 3D effect to the O scale corrugated siding and roof material. Some of your trees look a little clumpy but others really look good. Cheers from an old modeler in eastern TN

I have really enjoyed the card stock models from Clever Models. I started with the freebies and was tickled with the results. Now, I don't know how many I've made. I like to have a lot of trees on the layout - I certainly have some I made that look better than others - usually I try to keep the better ones up front and the bad ones in the back... so it still has a lot of trees.

I have that exact train set that I got for my 5th birthday back in 1973. It's in rough shape, but I just dug it out of storage and my 4 year old grandson and I are going to make it run again. Thanks for the trip down memory lane!

Awesome. I did something similar years ago with my ho life like sets. I cut a slot in the car track then i heated the train track and melted it into the car track. Then i used black gasket maker to fill in the space between the two to keep them from making contact with each other. You have an awesome setup.
@BrentsTrains Жыл бұрын
When I was young, I thought those HO slot car combination sets were really sweet! I never did have one. At the time, I didn't have the knowledge or skills to do what you did - I barely have any knowledge or skills now. Ha ha. I'm actually surprised that the two manufacturers don't get together and make a set in 1/48 with Lionel trains and Carrera cars.

Will Clever models print them for you and send then to you or do you have to have a good color printer.?
@BrentsTrains Жыл бұрын
I have never purchased anything from them already printed. According to their website, contact them for printed models. My printer is old, but pretty nice (Canon Pixma... something). I print on "Normal" setting for about all of the models I've done and I've been really happy with them.

Where I did it long ago with HO and now I want to do it with larger scale, like you have already done there, hope to try it with 1/32 car track. kzbin.info/www/bejne/fonYn5KJp8Z_m7M
@olsketchmo Жыл бұрын
Slow down the Train speed so you can just barely make 2 car laps at the crossing. And hopefully at that train speed the train will just be clear of the road crossing when completing the 3rd lap with the car, and now the next 2 car laps must be faster than before because you started after the train length rather than before.
@olsketchmo Жыл бұрын
Double the fun. Fail to understand why more folks don't do this or even why the slot car track companies do not make and offer a factory made crossing piece. A couple past HO companies did. I'm thinking about try to do it with G Scale and Scalextric Slot Car Track. Please share more as things develop and improve.

What happens if cop car stops in front of the train? Do you think you could recreate Dealy Plaza Kennedy assasination with tramps on train track escape?
