To me the John Deer is a better setup than the Kubota. The auger blade look bigger which allows it to eat more snow.

Nice comparison. I’ve got the same BX2822 snowblower mounted on my B2601 tractor here in Vermont. The tractor has loaded rear tires and rear wheel chains, which is required for my steep driveway. I also have a 6’ blade on the back of mine, which gets used a lot during the winter, depending on conditions. I took off the cutting edge from the blower and MIG welded a length of 1 1/2” steel pipe to the leading edge. This helps reduce how much gravel I pick up when the ground is still soft. I also took off the chute’s hand guard because it was causing it to clog up under certain wet snow conditions. Obviously, do that at your own risk. After the first year, I also bought an Original Tractor Cab for the tractor so I can stay dry while clearing snow mid-storm. If the snow is going to be more than a foot I’ll clear twice as it goes much faster with a foot or less, especially if wet. And I bought an electric chute deflector actuator so I can change the deflector angle from my seat. This is my 5th year with that setup and I really don’t have any complaints about it. I clear my own long, gravel driveway, plus two of my neighbors (I’m retired,so have the time). Having one if these snowblowers makes it fun.

I recommend you remove the skid shoes and the steel cutting edge if it has one and replace it with a UHMW-PE (TIVAR) cutting edge. This will allow you to cut down to the driveway surface without making scratches and scrapes in your asphalt driveway, there is so much snow still left after going over it with the blower as the skid shoes are not allowing it to do its job.

If you're fortunate enough to have either one of those the differences will make little difference between the two the way they are set up. That's the best way to get rid of snow in snow country but they are not cheap.

@timnash6870 Ай бұрын
TIM from Canada, you must be new to snowblowing because the advantages of snow blowing is whatever side you were on you turn your blower and blow the snow on that side of your snowblower unless you have buildings in the way watching you blow the snow over top of your driveway is a no-no because if it stops all of that snow goes back on to your driveway… if you were blowing snow on the right side of your driveway and it is clear then you turn your blower to the right side of your driveway. If you were on the left side of your driveway then you turn your blower to the left side of your driveway you only turn the blower on your snowblower to the opposite side. If there is buildings something in the way, but generally the side you were on is the side you turn your blower on… that’s OK. You’re new one day you figure this out.

I have watched alot of these types of videos. And I don't understand why they direct the snow shoot in the direction of where they just plowed. Instead of the direction of the direction of where they have not plowed yet. Why?

If you take notice to the first test, the Kubota throws the snow nearly twice as far as the JD. JD has gone with too much plastic parts. I can believe they would use it for the impeller.

Hi Luc, it was your tractor vids that brought me to your channel. You have a very nice one and I can tell you love it. Apparently we have lots in common. I got an old 2003 bx2200 and just tried out the snowblower yesterday for the first time. You call yours a beast and well....they are. I was going to build a cab for the tractor but realized it will do the snow so fast I really don't need one haha. Now I find myself hoping for snow. I have used the tractor with the bucket to save me all kinds of back breaking work over the summer and still have lots to do. I live near Ashton and I had a nest of these big hornets in my back yard. I'm not afraid of bees and wasps but these big ones gave me the creeps. The nest was difficult to get at and I tried a number of times to get rid of it but was afraid to get attacked. Turned out these are very docile, and some call them the "gentle giants". They wouldn't even try and sting even when getting close attacking the nest. I felt kinda bad killing them after but they were too close and too big. I suspect there were about 100 in the nest and I finally killed them with spray foam insulation. It took two applications to finally put an end to the nest. These are very interesting hornets as they did things that yellow jackets bees would never do. I have videos I hope to post of my battle someday.

4:10 Those pieces on the Deere are for balance. Notice that there auger is un-balanced because it has an odd number of rotations (2/3). The Kubota auger is balanced (3/3).
