The rear mount is not a problem. But the front ones are a little tricky. I try to slide them to the front side of the camper shell the muches I can, and I use a long ratchet to secure the mounts.

The reason your getting different power readings is because you have the meters in different modes. Lots of people seem to make this mistake. The SMD was showing Apparent Power while the BHG meter was showing Corrected Power. Switch the BHG meter over to Apparent Power and they should read the same. 👍

@956Bassaddict- Great video, my friend. I have been eagerly waiting for this one! Almost everyone has been saying this BHG Watt Meter can't read past 1,500 watts or so, & im like it says on the Bass Head Garage website, that this meter can read up to 20k. But i have not seen ANYONE besides you now, that has the electrical= Huge C-Max Bank, Huge Alts., & 2- Crescendo Bc 17k amplifiers to really test this meter out, so thank you my friend❤️!

Thanks a lot, my friend. I think that I can trust the bhg meter when I test at full tilt. On a real competition, we clamped one of the 17k amplifiers with the termlab, and it clamped 22k. I like the AMM-1 it reacts quickly but is only good for 15k. I have 2 of the bhg meters . When I get back from work, I want to connect the second one on the other amplifier.

@@956Bassaddict - I would use the BHG Watt Meter, to ✔️ the impedance curve of your system. Like write down in your note book. Start with your volume down, like around only doing a 140 Db @ 38Hz. Then use test tones, starting @ 10Hz or so, going 1 freq. @ a time, up to 50, 60, 70, 80Hz, wherever you want. Write down the impedance of each freq. This will show you what freq. your amp can make the most power= @ the Lowest total impedance, & also @ what freq. makes the least power= the Highest total impedance. Make sure subsonic filters or Low pass filters are not limiting the freq. That you want to test, as this can change the impedance read vs the actual power that can be made. Since you have a 6th order, it should have 2 impedance peaks, with 3 low valleys. The peaks are where your enclosure is actually tuned @.

@tuffguy40- The SMD Amm-1 has problems reading accurately, when near/passed its maximum rated limits. Example: 15k @ 1 ohm, 7,500 @ 2 ohms, 3,750 @ 4 ohms, & 1,875 @ 8 ohms. But then again, most products would probably freak out when pushed past their limits.

When both meters are in the same mode, they will read the same power. The AMM-1 does seem to jump up to a crazy high number when the amp is pushed hard. You know power in= power out= can't fool physics! So the Amm-1 read 3800 watts, vs the BHG 1,650 watts. Most thought the $89.99 meter had to be wrong, but i said i don't think so. Guess what 212.8 Amps X 9.65 Volts👀 X amp eff. of around 80%=1,650 watts! And all for $89.99 each. @956Bassaddict- Great score, my friend. I know it's hard to keep track of the small details, but it's those small details that can make a difference. Like your SPL Meter's Lcd screen facing your roof= up, in your 1st test of 36Hz @ approx. 70% volume as you said= the 160.14Db @ vol. 30. Then for 37, 38, 39, 40, and 35Hz, you had the Lcd screen on your SPL Meter facing the floor= down. I was sure that the change in the meter's direction would impact your score, but i did not know by how much, until you did the test again @ 36Hz, but this time you had the SPL meters Lcd screen facing the floor= down, like you did for all of the other freq. tests @ vol. 30. This score was 2 tenths lower= a 159.94Db. So that showed 2 things, #1 that 37Hz was your peak, with the SPL meter in that position, and #2 that your SPL meter gives its best score with the Lcd screen facing the roof= up. So when you did your Real SPL run the next day, without you prob. Realizing you put your SPL meter in with the Lcd Screen facing the Roof= up= Loudest facing, and tested your best freq.= 37Hz, right off the rip= a 163.75Db= very nice! Do you think your amps were maxed out power wise? Did you try turning up your volume 1 notch @ a time, off camera? Like i said before, its much easier for me watching to catch these things. Im just trying to help, hope you don't take my comments in a negative way? Great job, and thank you for doing these videos🎉👏

@@956Bassaddict - Since your Amm-1 can't read accurately above 15k @ 1 ohm, i think? If you were to use a clamp meter around 1 of your 4 power inputs, on 1 of your Bc 17ks, to show your amp draw. This would be a more safe, and accurate way to monitor how close you are to maxing your amplifier out. From what i have heard, as long as you keep the amp draw under 2000 amps, @15 volts, on your Bc 17k, and you have enough electrical, you should be okay. So that would be under 500 amps per 1 amp input. So to be extra safe, maybe creep up on the volume until you reach only 400 amps per input. To be even safer, @ mid volume, find out which Bc 17k pulls the highest amperage, and use that Bc 17k, to creep up to the 400 amps per amp input. Before any of this, i would see how much amperage, you pulled, doing your 163.75Db, @ 37Hz. What volume was that, when you did that 163.75Db?

I'm pretty sure that a sweep will get very close to the peak frequency. But in my personal opinion, I think when you increase the wattage to the subs, the peak will change 👍
@evilinside5984
@evilinside5984 2 ай бұрын
A sweep track can be useful to people who don't have any idea of where the peak freq., might be. But most people use freq. sweeps the wrong way. By doing them @ to high of a volume, which can damage your equipment. Also freq. sweeps can show a false peak, and can also show a different peak every time= they can be very inconsistent. If you were to use a freq. sweep, i would do them approx. @ half volume, like if your max you ever turn your volume to is 40, for a freq. sweep, just turn the volume to 20. This should give you a general idea, unless your 1st test shows a peak @ 35Hz, the 2cnd test shows 40Hz, and 3rd test shows 45Hz. Then @ least you will know your systems sweet spot is 35 to 45Hz. Then you can use that information, to then use test tones from ( 30 to 50Hz ) 5Hz below, and 5Hz above those 3 different peaks. Now when testing the individual test tones, do what the guy in this video did= increase your volume to approx. 70%, and play all test tones for the same duration= Like if you play the 1st test tone for 3 seconds then pause it, do that for every freq., you test, then write the score down. Once you find the freq. with the highest score, go back to that freq., and crank it up, write the score down, then do the same thing 1Hz Lower, and 1Hz higher, to see if the peak changed @ max volume, cause it often can, but usually only by 1Hz either way. Remember to always have everything the same, when testing, if you want consistent results, only ever changing 1 thing @ a time, to see if it helps, or hurts, the score. Hope this help's?

@@sparco317 - Yes, longer sweep tracks. The sweeps that go from 10 or 20Hz and up, have blown up lots of equipment. I don't recomend those @ all. Using a Sweep that was from 40 to 50Hz, and took 30 to 40 seconds to play a 10Hz span, would be much better, and give more consistant results, vs a wide band sweep, that was only on each freq., for a few tenths of a second.

@956Bassaddict- When trying to meter in the kick with this Ssa Apm-x spl meter, put the meter all the way up to the top of the kick area= turn the meter long ways, and hang the top suction cup on the top of the carpet, or floor matt, to hold it in place. The meter laying on the floor doesn't give great results. When i was metered in the kick area in comp= they wedged the meter as high up in the kick as possible, using a metal globe/cage, to hold it in place. If the meter fell down to the floor= my score went down as well.

I know exactly what you mean friend. I usually put it all way up. But because I was having problems with the meter, I didn't do it. I can give it a try. I think the score can be better 👍🔉🔊

@@956Bassaddict - I could tell that you got flustered a little, when the meter wouldn't connect with the laptop, it was hot out, and the meter kept shutting off, and you had to hurry around real fast, with the phone in your hand while recording. You did much better than i would have done. I get flustered easily when things don't go as planned, and i can't function. Then i just start cussing, and throwing things😁😆😂. You my friend, are much more calmer, than i. You did a great job, all things considered. Also, when you re-meter, with your SPL meter way high up in the kick, try 36, 37, and 38Hz, @ about 70% volume, and hold each tone, for about 3 seconds each time, to let the meter read the pressure more accurately/consistantely. Then after you find out which freq. Was loudest, play that freq., full out!

@@956Bassaddict -To give you an idea, how good your music score, with the meter on the glass was of a 160.3 i think? There was a ( 12 ) - 18 inch, 6th order build, with ( 12 ) - Incriminator Audio ix6 amps= about 7 or 8k per amp, @ The 2024 Slam show in Indy, this last weekend. He did a 161.89 Db on music, on the glass, both doors open, so your only 1.5 Db off of his 12- 18s!

Heck yea bro! I been waiting for this video ! Also , the meter will stay on for around 5 minutes or so before it turns itself off. When the screen saver pops on , just press the settings button to bring the score back. Also, have you ever strapped the 17ks at 1 ohm to see if there’s a difference in power vs gain matched @.5 each ?

That’s amazing only .48 db difference between the 4.11s and the 3.9s….anything under 1 db difference is a great . Reason being no human ear could pick up the audible difference when it’s .9db or less ..great job and great video 🎉
