Even though I've paddled for about ten years and had a Fenn bluefin , a stealth 525, and now an Epic v8 pro I can't even sit in a narrow ski without turning over instantly when I go to lift the other leg in. So you must be a good paddler.

I have a 7.5 year old 525 so it has no live well & the seat isn't as deep. I'm in Scotland & don't fish live bait so not having this is fine. Nor did I in Dorset, England. I have a live bait well on the Fisha Duo, which has proved good for storage of dispatched Mackerel (ours are tiny, around 30cm in length). I removed the rod butt bar & replaced with a bungee one, which holds the butt up higher & is a big improvement. I use stays to keep the hatch nearly vertical rather than flip it, which I've found I prefer. I love the stability on the PF525, hate the width of the Duo, although it's extra stability might be better for the kids. I've been planning buying an Epic V7 plastic surfski to replace our only plastic kayak for some fishing, wildlife watching & distance paddling. At 54cm wide do you think I'll struggle to fish from it? I saw the video when you tried fishing from a narrow surf ski. Sorry, I've gone on a wee bit.

Hey Patrick, some great suggestions there, thank you! 100% agree with you, i also have a duo thats just too wide. I dont think you would have any issues fishing off the 525, In fact I would say you may be surprised at how stable it is! Happy blanking :) K
@patrickcavanaghkilmartin2 жыл бұрын
@@fishlessdiaries8685 thanks for your reply. The 525 is beautifully stable, to the point where I can't see why anyone would need anything wider. My plan is to buy an Epic V7, it's only 54 cm wide. I hope I get on better than you did in your video using the surf ski. We shall see.....

Appreciate you taking time to record/edit/post the review! I just ordered a 525 last week and your review helps build confidence that I've made a good decision. One question - what is the maximum rod length that fits inside the fish hatch? I wrap my own rods and would like to build a couple while I'm waiting for delivery.

Hey Keath, did you come right? I have 2 7ft flick sticks that fit well inside the boat. Cheers K

@@fishlessdiaries8685 all good mate...I built 4 rds while waiting for the 525 to arrive. Longest is 7'6" which just fits in the hatch. The 525 is everything I had hoped for and more...so simple and every feature is well designed. 👍. Cheers

Great review! Really good to see some objective comments on the ski, I went from a PF475 to a Fusion 480, but based on comments like yours I may think about a Fisha 500 or PF again. Thank you for putting this together 🙏🎣💪🤙

Pleasure Paul :) Fisha 500 is a great choice too. I just like the sleekness and speed of the PF.

Haven't seen the evo in the USA ... just the Fusion 480 . Are they similar? Thanks for the video, I'm trying to buy a Stealth but they are hard to find here. I live on an island in the Pacific Northwest we have some epic fishing. Wishing you good luck on the fish!!

There's a lot of these getting around here in Oz. The hull shape, particularly underneath is real flat, without much if any rocker, which makes this more a ski than a kayak

Great to see the comparison. I have a 525 that I bought new in 2015. Lovely kayak, but no live well. I don't need one in UK, but will have one on the new Fisha Duo because it'll come with it, once it's for sale. That tab on the starboard side is where I attach my rod leash. You guys with big surf use a different system, from what I've seen. I love the new rear hatch & the wiring routing. I have a battery box like your Evo, but it doesn't fit a FPV lithium battery. I've just made a new one to accommodate it.

Im loving the 525, i need to do a review on it now that i have done alot of time in the boat. Ah thanks, i was wondering what that tab was, i thought it was put there specifically to catch my fingers on during a paddle stroke! I just got myself a Duo, and so far its too much fun!
