I've listened to NPR for about fifty years - maybe a little more. So sad to see (hear) how they've degenerated to little more than a lackey for the deep state. But, by hook or by crook, Terri has managed to maintain some semblance of objectivity and for that I'm grateful

A few years ago she discussed with an equally clueless guest Putin's efforts to promote communism. I was stunned by her ignorance. She is living in another world. Perhaps a time machine swept her back to the eighties.

Criticism... I always love listening to Terry Gross. And... I was disappointed by this video, not because of it's content per se, but because the promise made by the title was not at all met by the content.

Terry Gross is the absolute best interviewer. She does her homework and it seems like some of her guests are very selective about who they are willing to sit down with. I proudly wear a t-shirt with her face on it. I can't imagine any Communication major not studying her style and technique.

Dear Terry, I watched another video where the comments were turned off so I came here to comment on something you said about having a hard time listening to your younger voice. May I just say that I have grown up with your voice from the beginning and I treasure it in all its incarnations. Your voice to me is the embodiment of intelligence and insight and I am grateful for what you have offered over the years.

How in the world is the grossed-out gal allowed to push hate filled, conspiracy books and articles on the air? The raison d'etre of this POS is to instill hatred for Trump, conservatives, Fox, Christians. Such hate cannot be allowed to continue on public radio. Her program needs to be banned as worse than any imaginable racist enterprise.

Let me be refreshingly blunt. I find Terry Gross to be a coward, and a repugnant human being who champions all sorts of depravities, such as abortion and homosexuality. She is a coward because she RARELY entertains guests who champion beliefs which are contrary to her own positions. She overwhelms her audience with like-minded guests whom she knows will further along her own ungodly contentions. Anyone can amass a substantial following and degree of respectability by engaging in a career which does not include voices that will challenge their own thinking. It is basically the foundation of every NPR show.

@Joe Miroddi; I find your bluntness an angry, ignorant attacking rant - nothing refreshing about it when you presume to know someone's character and attack the person (who you don't even know), not the behavior. It's her show; not yours. If you don't like it, don't listen-- just as we have the right not to listen to interviewers with YOUR views; and talk radio is dominated by them. Your argument points don't hold up: you could learn a lot by listening to Terry Gross - but you're not open to it.

Wonderful interview! The interviewer asked interesting questions allowing Doris Kearns Goodwin time to give thoughtful answers. She is a national treasure! I am currently reading No Ordinary Time about FDR leading the US out of a state of isolationism into WWII is prescient to today's current political situation. Reading history puts everything into perspective.
