That motor is stout in the Grizzly. If you want more power, port the head, do +1 valves, larger throttle body, programmer and dyno tune it, this same motor in the Raptor can be very fast. If you want more than that you can bore and stroke it too. That motor is almost bullet proof.

It’s definitely a good motor it’s just disappointing that Yamaha doesn’t keep up with the times and offer a true big bore ATV

@@Graham_A I love mine, mine is white. Before this one I had a white 2011 ranger with the 2.3 duratec motor. I did a bunch of work and tuning on it and it was a quick little truck for what it was. Then I was at a dead stop and got rear ended by an idiot on his phone going 55mph in a 25mph zone and it totaled my truck. I lost about $7k in the deal insurance company only gave me $14k for it but I ended up getting my edge with the super cab
@Graham_AАй бұрын
@@jasonsmith3726 that sucks man I feel bad for you. I have a regular cab I want a super cab so bad. It’s my dads old truck that he gave to me and the tint is off so I’m getting it re tinted this Saturday
@jasonsmith3726Ай бұрын
@@Graham_A for real? No bs I have an appointment to get my front 2 windows and my windshield tinted also on Saturday lol. That’s weird. My back window and the 2 back half door windows are factory tinted glass. I just want all the windows to match the same percentage. I also have my cap from my last ranger that I’m getting ready to re paint and put that hog on. The windows in the cap are already tinted 20 percent and I have a lifetime warranty on that tint. I have a tonneau cover and a tool box on it now but I like the cap better

Don’t ever grease your outer collar with Tinkseal. It’s all going to end up on the belt and sheave faces. The engineer that designed Tinkseal would cringe seeing this. So much easier to drop the weights in the sheave, put the cam plate in and slide it on the collar while holding thumb pressure on the cam plate than messing with those weights falling out.
@westernslopermax216Ай бұрын
It’s a small amount of TS but as that sheave closes it wiped all that excess off and it went somewhere. Tinken is adamant not to let that stuff ever touch a sheave face. Maybe overkill but once in contact it get in the pours. You don’t just get rid of it with braklean. It slick and remains slick. It’s designed to be slick even if it dries up which is why it works so good in the secondary but not so much for belt grip. Good video for beginners. A lot to be learned for someone who is taking their first stab at it. 👍

@@atv_lifestyle I’m not a long way from Moab and Sand Hollow Utah. I love the rock crawling. I’m also very close to the San Juan Mtns (Alpine Loop) it’s extremely scenic but not much technical stuff. Not much mudding out here but clutching is similar to mudding so long as your on the therory not to delay wet clutch engagement but rather lock it right up. I was the first to find the right weights to drill and tap the shoes of the Rmax and install enough weight to overcome what was lost in drilling plus 8 extra grams. Yamaha discontinued the holes in the shoes on SXS after 2018. I ran across your video after just buying a new grizzly and I’m researching clutching. Tinken told me about Andrew Deal a couple years ago, in hopes that he’d start doing Rmax sheaves and was going to recommend me as a tester. That said, what I’m most curious about is, what your sheave ratio is with the AD sheave?
@atv_lifestyleАй бұрын
@westernslopermax216 you know I’m not sure on that. I never really asked Andrew. I just told him to send me his best set up for the set up I was running. I’ve been very happy with it. It’s gotten rid of any bogging issues I had
