You should know you cannot bring extension cords. Ask your steward to use one they will provide. The same with distilled water if you need it for c-pap.
@taste4travelorg21 күн бұрын
You should always check the prohibited items for the cruise line that you'll be traveling with. In my case, extension cords ARE allowed on NCL. www.ncl.com/prohibited-items Things can change over time. Recently, Royal Caribbean has put extension cords and multiple plug devices on the prohibited list.

Quick question, when you landed at Entebbe airport what was your process with customs?. Have read some updates that customs scans travelers and bags upon entry into Uganda and passengers may owe tax for goods over a certain amount of money. You may have traveled before this new rule. Thanks in advance
@taste4travelorgАй бұрын
It was pretty quick, we applied and paid for the visa online a few months before our trip. I know that our info said we had to pay them cash when we got there. Can't remember, I think we did pay cash and they put visa page into our passports. Its a small airport and they have gift shops, coffee shop, some money exchange places there. We changed some money for tips and souvenirs. They prefer larger bills 50, 100 and you can get a better rate with larger bills.
@spokesdog9958Ай бұрын
@@taste4travelorg thank you... I just applied for my visa on line, today for my trip next Feb.. Nice to hear getting thru customs was quick for you. I believe they have enacted some strict new rules about what tourists can bring into the country even for personal use. Thanks again.

If you were to go back to Uganda, is there anything you would have liked to see that you didn't have time for? And would you do anything different? Thank you in advance for your input. We will be going to Murchison, kibale for chimp trekking, rhino trekking, QENP, Lake Bunyonyi, Ishashi for the lions and of course a couple of treks for the gorillas
@taste4travelorgАй бұрын
@spokesdog9958 We didn't see Murchison falls or the rhinos, I really loved the wilderness camp in QENP- so amazing to camp at the river with elephants, hippos and Buffalo at the river. We stayed just 1 night there, it would have been great to stay a little longer. The hotels were really beautiful but you don't really spend enough time there to enjoy it. We saw so much in 10 days!

Also, you should definitely take the boat tour thru Kazinga channel in QENP-amazing wildlife!

@@taste4travelorg Thank you so much. I reviewed your accommodation at QENP and the location was amazing. My guide booked me at a different one to be closer to our activity and will have him look onto yours. I will check to see if he has booked that boat tour thru the channel. Thank you. My tour is 14 days and like yours jammed packed with activities. I will revisit all your videos soon to enjoy your adventure and look forward to mine.

Do you mind if I ask what vaccines you got before travelling to Uganda?
@taste4travelorgАй бұрын
The main one you need is Yellow Fever, that is a requirement that you have to show proof of to enter the country and there are a few more that are recommended that we got: Tetanus, Hep A and B. We went to travel clinic in advance and got the recommended vaccines that we needed. 😎💉

Especially, water, Pelligrino, a bottle of wine at all restaurants, and all starbucks coffees). @@taste4travelorg Indeed, the weather was so mild. For this port intevnsive cruise we experienced excrusions planned every dayy (hikes, walks, helicopters, gondolas, canoes, school buses, motor coach and fishing boats). We walked on 3-glaciers, saw whales, bears, sea lions, moose, otters, blad eagles, foraged for berries, and more water than we could swallow/swim and trees we could possibly climb. We ate local seafood daily at some great restaurants (as none is served on-board the ship). I had a carry-on and over packed, did not need 85% of the winter and or rain gears I purchased for this trip and gifted it to an female entertainer who was my size -- as I would not need any of this clothing in Miami. Overall, we enjoyed the outdoor and off-ship activities❗

I just got off the Sun. It was a disaster. I had so many problems with the ship and how it was being run. I’ll never step foot on another NCL ship again. The crew onboard were absolutely oustanding and the food was really tasty. But Norwegian really needs to rethink on how they run their ships before i think about ever returning. The day we got back was rushed and they temporarily lost some of our luggage.
