Lots of handymen do it quickly, and incompetently, like the guy who installed the last deadbolt that is being replaced in the video.

Looks like they not line up holes 🕳️ I would drill from inside out to exterior side giving me a pilot hole to work with.

yup, new home owner here as well. I have no keys for my my garage (2 doors) and for my front door - really annoying isn't it! I'm replacing mine now.
