Hey Ernie, do you know the length of the rear axle shafts in a 30 spline flanged 44?

This trail takes great skill to do, while some damage to the vehicles banging those boulders is unavoidable. Oh! those sacrosanct Flat Fenders! But seriously I am waiting to see the comments of the participants and others on a fair unbiased comparison of how the Series 1 Land Rovers did vs the Jeeps on this excursion.
@EJOWestАй бұрын
@@78a67h The flat fender Jeeps completed the trail as well as the Land Rovers. Both Land Rovers had LS swapped V8 engines while four of the flat fender Jeeps had the original L134 4 cylinder go devil engines.
@78a67hАй бұрын
@@EJOWest Thanks for the comment. I was hoping that all vehicles were stock, whilst such drastic mods as "upgrading" to V8 I consider at least usavoury if not cheating for assessment / comparison purposes. Anyways everybody appears to have had a lot of fun which is the bottom line.

Nice job, Lucky is a really great looking jeep! 👍 Is there a reason for running heavy duty springs with 10-11 leaves on a trail rig compared to the lighter ones with 8-9 leaves?
@EJOWest3 ай бұрын
The only reason I would put heavy duty leaf springs is if I have a winch or heavier engine than stock, something that would cause the lighter 8-9 leaf springs to sag.

Awesome driving and videography! I loved it when Dave saved the rollover with his hand. But I would have done this on a motorcycle! Did any of the jeeps have stock tranny, diffs, and no additional skid pans?"
@EJOWest4 ай бұрын
We call these type of rigs Locker Stockers. They are built specifically with this type of trail in mind. They look stock but all have lockers installed in the front and rear diffs, some kind of modifications to the gearing and extra skid protection.
