Besides the incredibly boring, monotone presentation and immediate disqualifying point is her unscriptural "teaching" of this as a woman in violation of scripture (1 Corinthians 14:34, 1 Tim 2:12-15, Rev. 2:18-29) in a church that has very similar problems and prohibition violations similar to the church of Thyatira in Revelation Chapter 2, vs. 18-29) Furthermore, Revelation does not paint Jesus in a different light but as one that has previously been revealed through the entire Bible, both as lamb that John the Baptist referred to him as (John 1:29), as a conquering king (Matthew 24:30, Matthew 25:24, Daniel 7, 9, whole book of Zechariah) being the beginning and the end (John 1:1-3) and several verses from both testaments using the bride/bridegroom metaphor (Matthew 9:15, 22:1-14, 25:1-13, Luke 12:36-37, 14:15-24, John 3:29-30, Ephesians 5:25-32, Isaiah 62:5) as well as the shepherd (John 10:11-18, Matt. 9:36, 18:12-14, Mark 6:34, Luke 15:4-7, Psalm 23:1-4, Hebrews 13:20. 1 Peter 2:25). Love and Justice are the same thing. A bit disconnect between a promotion for a less than expositional work and more of a puff piece.

Billions of animals that are already born are killed for taste pleasure every year. A fetus doesn’t have the desire to live. But animals do. If your not vegan then your a hypocrite when talking about abortion. I agree abortion is immoral. But let’s focus on the sentiment being alive today that are already suffering. Your Christian world view says that all those unborn babies go straight to heaven.

Complete BS. The healthy cultures in the world are socially progressive liberal democracies. In most there has been a decline in religious adherence, a gradual disinterest. People in such countries are most interested in the common weal, in education, in public health. Americampn, by contrast, is a nation full of scientifically-illiterate déplorables, hating each other, passing laws to take away the rights of citizens. Only in America do the religious rednecks stlll gather to pronounce their yawp.

😂😂 yes, its an old series of books that have little to no relevance in modern civilization, so why are we being subjugated by such antiquated rhetoric and philosophy. Because some real jerkz know the power people give religion and seize it for their own purposes, I imagine

I can see the attraction of a triage approach to the age of the earth. But it seems to me that the unintended consequence of this approach is actually to compromise our witness. I feel desperately sad that so many people outside the church look at the created world - and give the credit to evolution, instead of giving the glory to God. The created world is supposed to point people to the creator - so that they are ‘without excuse’. Except - evolution does give them an excuse now. And instead of the church asserting confidently that God created everything, and deserves all the glory for it, we shy away from controversy and tell ourselves it’s not an issue worth causing disunity over. Surely God can’t be happy that he is not receiving the glory due to him? Whilst unity is a really important witness, is it more important than the witness we demonstrate in glorifying God for his creation? I’d love to hear Gavin’s response regarding this. Does evolution give God the glory - or does it rob God of his glory? And does it matter?

The whole young earth creationism was never an issue for me. As far as i'm concerned, it was NEVER necessary to take the creative days literally. Even if we don't take into consideration the text that says A thousand years is as one day to God, the Hebrew term used for day in the OT (yom) Can signify a period of time of unspecified duration. It was foolish to go with the English translation of the word day when the original manuscript was written in ancient Hebrew. What matters is there a definition of the word, not ours.
@rach94665 ай бұрын
What else in the Bible shouldn't be taken literally? We just cherry pick now? Just do what you like - the resurrection wasn't literal?
@MultipleGrievance5 ай бұрын
@rach9466 Depends. What's YOUR hermeneutic?? Passages meant to be literal are easy to identify. Passages that are symbolic are usually written in hyperbolic language. If something is stated that can't be true because it doesn't make sense (like wisdom being personified as a woman) the passage MUST be Symbolism.
@MultipleGrievance5 ай бұрын
@rach9466 It's weird That you completely missed what I said about the language of the original Hebrew. How on earth did you just breeze right past that???
@rach94665 ай бұрын
@@MultipleGrievance you don’t have to yell lol.. yom is used in a context that describes consecutive instances, and a regular period of day/night, which would be a 24hr period. I suppose you can say the days are metaphor for many years or whatever but it’s not necessarily the most logical or concise reasoning.

If someone leaves the faith over an answer to a question they don't like or a disagreement It's likely they never had a strong foundation to begin with.
