My son and did Bonaire back in 2022, stayed at Dive Buddy resort, was incredible, walk right from the beach into the ocean with full dive gear and descend down to the reef. Multiple reefs to dive. Salt pier was great.

great video! just came back from a trip to bonaire, unfortunatly due to a colapsed lung i had 3 years ago i will never be able and not allowed to dive with diving tanks. But with snorkling i still saw alot of incredible sea life! My dad and 4 year younger brother do dive, and try and film as much as they can with their go-pro! Nonetheless, their fotage is not as crisp and clear as the footage u guys showed here. May i ask what camera and or lens u used if it was a go pro? i would realy appreciate if i could hear what u used, so i can gift them something like that, and still enjoy it almost as much as they did while diving! Much love! looking forward to more video's in the future!

Hi, thanks for the comments, always have a great time in Bonaire, heading back in April. Sorry to hear about not being able to dive anymore. As for the video, I used a gorpo Hero 11 at 2.7K 60frames and did some colour adjustments in editing. I find the stabilization are getting better on the gopro but I do focus when I line up a shot to control breathing/buoyancy. Hope this helps.

Anyone know what type of eel is at 10:05? I've dove Bonaire 6 times since July '22 and last July was the first time I saw some that look like that. It is definitely not any of the five I usually see (Green, spotted, golden tail, chain, sharptail). I have a video of one I couldn't ID on my channel and then another video where I swear it is the same eel that died after it got hooked by someone fishing. Just noticed more shots of it. 15:39 gives a good view. 19:46 gives an excellent view.

At 17:54 what is the tree like branch is it mangrove? Also I see how you enter these dives but how do you get out after jumping off a cliff
@RobGtube
@RobGtube 2 ай бұрын
Hi, we never got up to the mangroves unfortunately but it was one of the sites toward the north end of the island. The cliff jump was a site called oil slick, there is a ladder to climb out of just down from the enter point. Higher recommend Bonaire for its diving :)

Be careful. Bonaire is highly addictive. I went for the 1st time in July '22 and came back in Nov '22, March '23, July '23, Nov '23, July '24, and now in a month, I'll be back. Did my 200th, 300th, 400th, and last July my 500th dive there. Was hoping to hit 600th next month but it may not be.

Good to see some visitors that are responsible divers with good form and buoyancy underwater. So many times I see dive tourists crashing into the reefs, breaking soft coral to get 'the shot', etc. Wish we had more good divers like these folks. You are more than welcome back.

Beautiful video! I would love to see more (yes, I'll check out your channel and see what else you've got) but without all of the back and forth between divers and reef/fish. I know, everybody's a critic. I'm not really! It just takes a person out of the zone if they are trying to meditate to it. It won't be much longer before video's like these will be all that remains of the reefs so I am very grateful folks like yourselves share like this. Thank you!

Hi, the video was a mix of different locations over 24 dives. With current restrictions we spent most mornings along the northern shore line and then in the afternoon in the south end. We got up as far as Karpata and as south as Red Slave. That said we really enjoyed the usual suspects, Salt Pier, Oil Slick Leap, Something Special, Red Slave, Hilma Hooker ect...

How far along is the Stony Coral Tissue Disease progressed????? When I dived Bonaire last summer it had destroyed corals from the north end of the island all the way down to Kralendijk. Tragic to witness the destruction of thousands of years of coral reef's growth!!! The south end of the island (down toward Salt Pier) was still diveable (in the "Green" zone) but required aggressive rinsing of ALL scuba gear in heavily chlorinated rinse tanks for several minutes followed by rinsing in freshwater tanks to try to prevent the further spread of the disease via transport in divers' gear.

The dive shop gave us a detailed briefing on the state of the coral surrounding the island and education on protective measures such as rinsing gear between sites/zones. Before heading out for the day we checked the local website on status of zone designate and planned accordingly. For the most part we headed north in the morning for two dives and then after lunch went south. This gave us time to wash/rinse gear between.

Yes we did. It was our first time, normally we stay with Buddy Dive Resort but the pricing was very competitive with the drive and dive package. The report is new and minimalist in design. We had a few bumps at check in as one of the rooms AC did not work but they moved occupants to another room with upgrade at no extra charge. The dive shop was fantastic, very accommodating. The first couple of days we had to cart tanks to the parking lot however when staff noticed they jumped to help out and used their 4 wheeler to bring them for us. Later in the week they had opened up dive lockers that where conveniently located by the trucks making it much easier to come and go. I believe they plan to even install air compressor that would allow you to fill tanks within the same locker area. The restaurants on resort were nice enough but found the beach bar, which shared the same menu to be much nicer atmosphere after a long day of diving. We had originally planned to try out the lazy river that circles the entire resort but did not get back to report in tie before it closed in the evening. From the visitors I witnessed they all seemed to love it.

You know , i always thought rhat ice diving is in no way differant than any other overhead environement like cave caverns and wrecks in wich we lay line that leads to an opening/open water , i find that being tetherd to the surface is a bit useless and good cave line should do the trick 🤔 what is your opinion on the subject 🤔

How challenging is it having two air tanks on your side, to having one on your back. What is that they come upon. Looks fun how two ladies scuba dive and then jump in the water at the end.
