So impressive. Also great video. The end result is stunning. I'm working on my first crease dent as a hobby. Might need some sea sickness pills since i made it quite messy :/. But your videos got me inspired to get back in there and try to get the job finished. Thank you

Unfortunately, what we don't see is how badly it was damaged before it was partially repaired. I had a very large dent in the side of my car and I repaired it. The large dent could be seen for a quarter mile away but after I repaired it you had to look very closely to see the ripples. I think the repair was well worth it.

It seems that the only people that make money with dents, are the people running pdr training courses..
@LearnPDROnline20 күн бұрын
Your comment tells me you are not a PDR Technician so I can forgive the misconception. Any 'good' PDR tech will out earn any PDR trainer. That's why most trainers myself included continue to work PDR alongside the training side of the business

I want to get into this type of body repair but I'm a little financially challenged. I am very interested in the process. It seems to me there's a lot of mental work involved and stepping away for a few moments may help press the reset button but what is the most taxing part for you. I'd love to know. Also what advice can you give me as I am just starting it on an infinity qx4 that was hit in the front passenger side
@LearnPDROnline20 күн бұрын
My advice is to start learning the foundation skills on a practise panel or donor car first and not on a real life dent, partly because you will mistakes, but also its easier to learn the basic skills on an undamaged panel before trying to learn on a dent. Yes there is also a lot of mental work in problem solving and pursuing through the repair process. The hardest part is usually the discipline to learn the skills, go slow and learn everything you can with what is available to you.

@@LearnPDROnline thanks. Your videos are so helpful because they show the attention to details i probably wouldn't even notice and the importance of pushing and pulling the metal where you need it slowly. I think that's where my main battle is going to be. Patients

@LearnPDROnline20 күн бұрын
Thank you, and that's not a stupid question at all. There are many brands to choose from and some are specifically designed for warm/cold climates so it depends on where you are but I use this stuff from my local supplier in the UK - bletools.com/collections/glue/products/100-x-high-strength-clear-glue-sticks

Can pinched dents be removed above dooron roof trim from roof racks hitting garage door pushing it back denting ?
@LearnPDROnline20 күн бұрын
In theory yes if the paint is undamaged and the metal is workable, but your local PDR technician will advise you further as it can often depend on access and how much the metal has been distorted or displaced.

Thank you. Each student has a different learning curve depending on how much time they have to put into their practice, hand eye co-ordination and current experience, generally you can learn to do simple small dents within 3 -6 months but the more advanced damage can take years to truly master. I have plenty of students learning this skill later in life and going into retirement as a part time business! I am happy to help and advise you further if you do decide to get started with PDR

@LearnPDROnline What do You think about PDR machines?
@LearnPDROnlineАй бұрын
I think they are good and serve a purpose for small stretched dents, however, I do not use one myself so can not really advise much on them, check out Martin Sadler's channel - Dentremover01 he has a few videos demonstrating them 👍

How long do you let the glue dry?
@LearnPDROnlineАй бұрын
It depends on the glue and the temperature of the panel to be honest, but usually somewhere between 10-20 seconds for most of my glue pulls, soft pulls I may do quicker and if I want a harder pull I may leave slightly longer 👍

Suberb work! I had a car repair business 35 years ago and wish i had access to these sort of technique's as we would have to fill or replace panels we would beat out the dent best we could but what your doing is truly amazing to watch! You are a true craftsman very skilled at what you do, you have my full admiration.
@LearnPDROnlineАй бұрын
Thank you for your kind words Phil, Yes the PDR techniques have come along way over the last few years and are slowly bridging the gap between PDR and traditional Bodyshop repairs!
@stanleylund6826Ай бұрын
Don't know if this would have worked back then. Today's vehicles have steel that's half as thick as it used to be!
@LearnPDROnlineАй бұрын
Yeah it is a slightly different process when working older cars with thicker metal, the older ones were harder to dent but often physically harder to fix. Panels today are easier to dent but often get stretched which is tough where as the old thicker panels would take more to damage them. I don't generally use the hot glue method on cars that are more than 25 years old as the paint seems more brittle!

The best tool to use is a rock. What you do is make another larger dent near the one you're thinking about spending time and money to fix. Then you won't have to because attention will be drawn to the other one instead. It only takes a few seconds and costs virtually nothing.
