This is so good, thank you all of you for your ministry into our world, and into my life. Jodie Brewer-Peet and I left Wichita 10 years ago, we have gone to church, but have found none that touches us as deeply as Chapel Hill. We love you and miss you. Thank you for continuing to put your Sunday services, and other presentations, on line. We now live in Washington state, where you light spans the miles to each us. We are blessed by you still. With gratitude, Clay Peet

Indigenous people have known for thousands of years that God was a verb not a noun. I love Richard but I wish he knew about this history.
@lainey35218 ай бұрын
He speaks elsewhere about precisely that. In another talk I watched recently he spoke of Celtic Christianity in those parts of Britain that the Romans never reached, where God in nature is a huge aspect. Also talked of pre-Christian pagan beliefs where the divine in nature was worshipped. I've also read his writings where he talks of other indigenous peoples. If he doesn't talk of it here, it's not 'cos he doesn't know/never talks of it.

Richard, I've heard it said that in the beginning, the Earth was only a vibration and that it roared into existence. In the beginning, there was only sound. Thank you for your roar. The sounds that flow from you are so peace creating within me. So affirming to my life. Thank you, Richard Rohr. May you never stop Rohring.

Why would God say NO to healing!? 😢 Im struggling with this so much . Im 99 % bedridden and in horrific debilitating pain for over 3 yrs. I want to deeply believe He loves me unconditionally, but its so hard when you ask n ask n thank Him for healing, but nothing manifests. I read in scripture where it shows that Jesus healed everyone that came to Him. Ive cried out to God for healing or to not let me suffer anymore. I feel trapped. 😢

Panentheism is key. When I was praying to G-d "out there" somewhere, I was making no progress. When I awakened to Panentheism, everything made sense. It was then that I experienced a profound kundalini awakening and instantly found myself face to face with the Mother Source and her realm of ecstatic Golden Light. The Divine is inside every living Being as that person's True Self or evolving Soul. The Soul is the Divine evolving person and sacred Self hood. There is also an "always present" and unchanging Self or Spirit, which is always the case. The Soul becomes united with its Universal Spirit aspect. This is enlightenment and salvation or integration and wholeness.

God hasn't submitted to the poor decisions we've made as a sort of plan B response. But all this was God's plan from the beginning. We don't and can't understand God's reason for setting it up this way so asking "why" is a painful frustrating exercise in futility. Focus on living and growing. Change what you can change and learn to live in grace, trust, and love with what you can't change. God is experiencing himself through and in us. He doesn't need us to understand why.

I can see why Christians find Paul's presentation of God so intriguing and challenging. The typical Christian view of God is so limited and anthropomorphic. God is even greater than how Paul describes him.

When you spoke about the violin makers, a message from the Holy Spirit was flooded within me. It came rushing in like someone trying to break down the door to deliver me a message of great hope, enjoy, or like if a dam was broken so that the water can flow freely, and I am using these metaphors, because that is how forceful it came upon me, and I do not exaggerate, the message was exactly what Paul said that the Lord said to him about his grace, being sufficient, where his power is made perfect in weakness

Time Stamp>13:27 to 14:00 > "unless you balance Almighty with all-vulnerable, you don't have the true shape of God". This is a lie. This man teaches falsely > "God is 100% vulnerable" ?? Are you kidding? Isaiah 40: "To whom then will you liken God, or what likeness compare with him?... It is he who sits above the circle of the earth, and its inhabitants are like grasshoppers... who brings princes to nothing, and makes the rulers of the earth as emptiness... Have you not known? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He does not faint or grow weary". The Lord God is not "vulnerable". Wake up United Methodists! Not only did the Holy Spirit fall on people, the 2nd temple was destroyed shortly after. Jesus prophesied every last bit of that tragedy too. Many who heeded His words were saved, literally. Josephus detailed much of it, word for word how Christ said it would come to pass. A lot of that stuff that people think is some event in the future ALREADY HAPPENED in 70 A.D. It could also be a foreshadowing of things to come, too, though. I do believe the Eastern Church "gets" 70 A.D., the destruction of Jerusalem, and understands it's importance to our faith. It was a final sign that the old order was passing away. Jerusalem was in bad, bad shape at that time. So corrupt. They destroyed themselves by not listening to Jesus and others. They were fighting among themselves, inside the city, before Rome and Titus came. It's quite possibly the most devastating event in human history. I forget how many they speculate died.

What about natural physical suffering? How does a God of Love dovetail with 25,000 dead in an earthquake? It's God's creation, no? And it's the enormity of the suffering: both qualitatively and quantitatively., The vast surplus of suffering that troubles me.
@newdawnrising8110 Жыл бұрын
Sorry but Christ IS the only way to the Father. The unitive experience is open to everyone and taught by all the natural religions. Christianity is a Divine Revelation from above. Christianity reveals a much higher reality. But only when a persons heart can truly open to the living Christ, then can the Logos come down “from the right hand of the Father” and come into us and lift us to the Godhead and the beatific vision we call Theoria. No other religion can bring one to this. Surely there is truth in all the world religions but Christianity is the highest revelation given to man. This knowledge should never cause Christian’s to be judgmental or look down on any others. It is a cause for deep humility. This understanding is all but forgotten in the modern world.

@maureenemojevwe4330 Жыл бұрын
IT DEFINITELY IS NOT. DEATH WOULD HAVE BEEN IF JESUS DID NOT CONQUER IT IN HIS DEATH AND RESURRECTION. DEATH HAS BEEN ABOLISHED AND THAT IS THE LAST ENEMY TO BE ERADICATED FROM THE EXPERIENCE OF HUMANITY. FROM THE SCRIPTURES WE KNOW THAT SOME WILL WALK ACROSS THE THRESHOLD OF DEATH INTO FULNESS OF LIFE AND WILL EXPERIENCE MORTALITY SWALLOWED UP BY LIFE. THEY WILL USHER IN THE REST OF CREATION INTO LIFE. THIS IS THE GROANING OF CREATION PRESENTLY TO BE DELIVERED FROM THE BONDAGE OF CORRUPTION, TO WHICH SHE WAS SUBJECTED TO IN HOPE!😊

47:30. The problem here is that God is not in charge of what we get, so Paul saying that He will never give us 2nd best is irrelevant.

42:19. & 44:16. Paul seems to confuse a high view of freewill, with a high view of humanity.

38:40. Option 3 sounds perfection. Love can exist in 3 as well as 4. Option 5; God creates humanity within the Godhead, so that we can experience the life within the Godhead for as long as Jesus as Jesus did prior to his incarnation. There are many more than 4 options.

Love Paul Young, but God not being the author of evil goes against Isaiah 45:7, where it says he CREATES evil. I understand that evil just means calamity or misfortune, but God seems to create dark circumstances, but in so that it brings about ultimate good. Not saying anything negative about Paul but I wanted to get the thought out.

Well I hate Paul Young - his ghastly book taught me what a narcissistic fantasy 'modern' Christianity is. The Christian deity is working evil for its 'glory/(smug and selfish)good' - would be the basic 'universalist Christian' premise.
