@@riverwild333 I did study music in college for a year but I HATED music theory! So auditioned at Disney and became a character actor! I did go back to school for something else, but dang theory just wasn’t my thing and I didn’t music for almost 15 years

Try to keep your arms in place more, and make the spot you hit the drum pad the same every time for each hand, and keep the same height each time too

Also your hands get sloppy sometimes, I’d recommend to not move so much and focus more on technique then just walking your stick at the pad

You have a musical ear and so much creativity. Your technique could use a little work. Rhythm is a language. The more technique you practice and develop. The broader your rhythmic vocabulary will be….with your musical ear and creativity. You are dope on the rhythm you could easily be super dope with technique.

@@riverwild333 I appreciate this so much!!! I did finally watch a video on how to hold drum sticks. I hadn’t done that yet. I just was so excited to be able to express myself rhythmically after 38 years on this planet 🤣 I hated reading music, so I stayed AWAY from rhythm. So this has been a WHOLE NEW WORLD for me!!! And I find it is bringing me so much joy!! Thank you for your positive support!!! That is so rare!!! And very appreciated!

I’ve been playing the drums for about 11 years and I would suggest looking up some videos of experienced drummers to learn the correct techniques. When you hit it should be more of a wrist and finger movement than a whole arm movement. That would keep your sticks from hitting each other and your sticks will hit more consistently in the same spot of the practice pad. It will also help make your hands and playing speed faster. Not hating, just thought I would try to help you out. Keep it up, and love the enthusiasm!!!!
