Thank you so much for reviewing this. I have ADHD and was in two minds about the digital downloads, but now I understand what they do, I see they are almost more important to have than the cubes, and so will need the full package!
@breamakesart45439 күн бұрын
Honestly, I would argue that you could get JUST the digital downloads. I have the physical cubes, and I haven't really touched them since I purchased them more than a few times. Obviously, if you think you'd use the physical product, don't let me stop you, but I think the digital product is much better.
@evangelinewilliams12398 күн бұрын
@ I actually read this after I purchased the complete package, as home decorating too atm - but I guess the portability of the digital sets are much more easier to use. It is then I shall be taking to the paint shop after all!

try 'slip knot' binding. It has the same feel as kettle stitch but imo is easier and uses individual sheets like you have

I always have a pan of white gouache in my palettes. I am a huge believer in it. I find gouache to do better than any watercolor white because it is more opaque. I don't have the patience to plan out my watercolor paintings to leave white spaces, especially in the wild. Have fun! I have that same little palette but I don't use it much because I have become obsessed with small palettes and have found the Mini Portable Painter one to be perfect for me. I do have several kinds, but most of them are home made. I find them fun to make and I am only limited by my creativity in what can be used.
@breamakesart45434 ай бұрын
I’ve seen the portable painters and they pique my interest, but since I don’t do a LOT of watercolor, especially on the go, I haven’t purchased one yet.

If you want to get a deep but rich black, I would mix Indigo and Burnt Umber. It makes a nice black, black but does not flatten the picture! Great job!
@breamakesart45434 ай бұрын
Thanks for the tip! I actually didn't have any burnt umber, or any browns really. I had to mix my own because my set of acrylics is pretty limited. If I am going to do more acrylic painting, I am going to buy myself a few browns, and probably in a fluid acrylic.

The numbers on the bags are the DMC numbers. The letters and characters on a legend differ from image to image the DMC number always remains the same. For example the 310 is always Black. Many of us sort the stones by DMC numbers As a little tip if you don't want to touch the finished surface with your hand: Start at the top of the image and work down :-)
@breamakesart45435 ай бұрын
The bags had both the DMC numbers as well as numbers 01 - 18. I understand that the DMC numbers are consistent across all kits, but I imagine the 01 -18 were put on there for this kit in particular. I don't understand why the used numbers instead of the letters on the image. I didn't want to start at the top and work my way down because then my hand would be touching the sticky surface. It wasn't a big deal, but wanted to point it out for anyone that is sensitive to that sort of thing.

It's funny because your sketchbook has so many of my hobbies in it! I b-danced for years and still lake classes, I research in Rome and paint ruins often, and I am a SCAdian and thinking about learning illumination (your vines stood out). Oh I work with bones and teeth so I love that teeth bottle and skulls. HA- worked in museums, cat momma, lots of tattoos. I love it!

Nice! Glad you are enjoying it. I love illuminated lettering, and the belly dancers are fun to watch and draw! I only have 1 tattoo, but my niece is a tattoo artist and I like to look at what she does and it inspires me to try out different designs just for funsies.

Ha- I don't draw that much but actually just did 3 ladies on a whim last night. The space between the head and shoulders is hard for me.
@breamakesart45436 ай бұрын
I can totally see that. Human anatomy is hard, and if you get it wrong, your drawings can easily look creepy! Wish I had a trick to get that space right. I have taken to making sure to draw a cylinder there to account for it, but sometimes I draw the head too far from the shoulders still, so they have a rather elongated neck.

Water color is supposed to bead up. Its water. If your having a hard time picking up paint then you don't have enough paint or you have too much water on your brush. Hope this helps.
@breamakesart45437 ай бұрын
Thanks! That is helpful (I am by no means a watercolor expert). However, I do like how the palette behaves after doing this to it. I especially like it on the metal palette...not sure that doing it on the plastic one with wells is worth it (but had already done my metal ones well before the video).

I see you got the Jazza art box as well 💕
@breamakesart45437 ай бұрын
I did. I was super excited about it when I got it and I have played with some of the things in there. I think the value was there, but since I didn't use it a lot, it was probably not worth me getting for myself. I have since become a little more selecting with what art boxes I choose to get. I kind of knew there were things in there I likely wouldn't use, but my excitement overruled my common sense.
@stevemyrnaperez13767 ай бұрын
Why doesn’t anyone do the harder pages. Like the rows of dots or the pink snd green abstract page? We can all see the flowers but other pages are less oblivious.
@breamakesart45437 ай бұрын
I hear your frustration. I did some searching for what people were doing with this book to get some ideas for those harder pages after I filmed this. I saw some people covered a fair amount of them up, and used some of them for decorations in their final design. For me, I didn't do those precisely because they were harder. I had just started the channel then, and wasn't terribly sure of myself/my skills and wanted to do something I felt I could do a reasonable job with and make something that looked decent. I had absolutely NO IDEA what to do on those pages, and didn't want to sit in front of the camera racking my brain for the whole video.
