This is absolutely amazing! Would it be okay if I included this in an upcoming video on Aero - Por Trás da Aviação channel? Full credit will be given directly in the video. Thanks a lot!

You could almost hear that engine muffled down as it’s choking in all them damn feathers, bones, etc. Then it sounds kind of horsey and raspy the rest of the way. That’s the problem with these composite compressor blades compared to the titanium ones that would eat these little birds up like a blender on a strawberry. They weren’t big birds they look like small sparrows.

I love how you can see the plane start to yaw slightly right once the right engine was set to idle and the pilots banking slightly left to counteract

What,s for a very wonderful and detailed trip-report with lot,s of breathtaking and very beautiful inflight-views. Espectially these of the Greater suburb London-Area. This one female flight-attendant, which among others has made the pre-take-off safety-instruction-PA, is sounding a little bit curious and funny because almost at any end of their spoking sentences. she always stretched the last word. For me it sounded always like a little bit musical. I think this FA was in a very good mood on this day.

Someone explain to me why Airbus or Boeing don't integrate a metal mesh onto the front of these engines to avoid this kind of thing
@TheFlyingFrenchmanHD
@TheFlyingFrenchmanHD 23 күн бұрын
In addition to the risk of ingestion, they would disturb the airflow going to the engine. Airflow disturbance like this could increase the risk of compressor stall. These are the two first risks I see
@112rorz
@112rorz 23 күн бұрын
@TheFlyingFrenchmanHD I just think there must be SOME way of protecting the front of the engine with little compromise to the functionality while greatly reducing the risk of damage by birds or otherwise

Suspected terrorist attack claims the lives of several members of a flock travelling through Ireland. The attack was confirmed to have been carried out using an airborne aluminium bird-ramming weapon in yet another incursion by humans into airspace claimed by various avian species.

Don't ever discount sharing information with the crew. When you notice the impact on the wings, call the flight stewards and they will inform the captain and first officer.

If birds are such a big issue in aviation, why then so little is done to prevent bird strikes? I mean, what is prevention of birds? Just some fishing rods with kates? What else or I'm missing something?

Why the manufacturer don't put a netting to cover the engine hole from bird entering
@OzzyBattler4697
@OzzyBattler4697 27 күн бұрын
Then the netting will get sucked into the engine - a lot worse than a few birds!

Because if 1 bird can kill an engine, inagine what it does to a net… then you’ll be sucking in not only the bird but metal shards from the net too. Not ideal

Yeah the aero engine is designed to take air into the engine, compress it and add fuel for combustion, birds on the other hand dont improve the performance too well and since the turbine blades are balanced to rotate exactly to the same weight in full circumference, therefore any additional weight obtained due to burnt on bird corpse throws the rotation out in the same way as a car wheel when it loses a balancing weight. Any additional weight is thrown into a centrifugal oval rotation hence the vibration. Put in simple terms, its like a washing machine going into a spin with a heavy water sodden towel on one side of the drum. The result is a washing machine trying to do a jig around your kitchen.
