Had one for years...the top gets really really hot...and you put it down and it slips t one side and burns your top

The top is the heating element so it does get very hot but mine has a stand/lip on it so I have never had one slip sideways. Does yours have a lip to rest it on?

I've just bought my 1st motorhome 2 weeks ago and this has been super helpful. It's 6m and I use it as my everyday vehicle too so is it ok to leave cupboards shut and mattress in situ etc at night?
@BellasBigAdventures4 күн бұрын
Congratulations. It’s an addictive pastime 😀 If you’re driving it everyday I assume you have the heater on while you’re driving? If the mattresses aren’t needed daily I’d be tempted to remove them until you need them, unless you can keep the heating on low at night? Is it plugged in at home?
@carolinesarahthompson96904 күн бұрын
I'm driving it 4 days per week for an hour so yes I've had the heating on. I'm going to bring the mattress inside as a precaution. The heater is run from the vehicles diesel via a webasto system. How long would you run it for for on the days I'm not out? It's quite overwhelming when you first do the handover. Total information overload 😅 but I'm very excited planning out trips for when the snow disappears 😊
@BellasBigAdventures4 күн бұрын
It is indeed overwhelming but it will become second nature very quickly. With no water in your system and mattress taken out, your trips in the vehicle will be sufficient. Using it all year round is the best part of owing it. Enjoy

For 200k+ you don't get leather seats, you don't get an oven (typically European tho'), not to mention very little water capacity, extra fuel capacity and only 6kg of gas (kind of important if you are serious about using its 4x4 capability beyond a posing drive along the beach or negotiating a gravel carpark. No one buying this van would take it off-road in a meaningful way; it's too precious as a statement! Beautiful machine tho' if you are into that sort of MH and have deep pockets and long arms.
@BellasBigAdventures26 күн бұрын
@@davidwilkinson333 that’s quite a generous water capacity for uk vans but I get your point. Ovens not a necessity and lots of weight to carry when there are so many cheaper and lighter alternatives these days. 200+ seems to have become the norm sadly for any vehicle that has the ability to off road. Prices have sky rocketed in recent years.

Lack of kitchen counter space to prep food. Why are all RVs lacking counter space? Otherwise a very clever design.
@BellasBigAdventures28 күн бұрын
What would you sacrifice for more kitchen? Shower room? Lounge? There’s always a compromise as they are not that big an internal space. They do have an add on counter which sits in an open drawer when in use. This is why so many people self convert so they can choose what suits them best.
@dianemcq6428 күн бұрын
@ No need for so much seating around a table. Lots of vans I’ve seen have extra counter space through the use of pop-up counter extensions. Something could also be wall-mounted that flips down. There are lots of creative ways to make a kitchen functional.

@BellasBigAdventuresАй бұрын
@@siobhanmacandrew7068 the weight of the vehicle determines which type of license you need. Up to 3500kg anyone can drive on a standard road license. If you took a test before jan 97 you automatically qualify for a C1 license under what’s referred to as ‘grandfather rights’ which allows you to drive heavier vehicles over 3500kgs if you took your test after then you need to do a test to get a c1 license. Category C1 You can drive vehicles between 3,500 and 7,500kg maximum authorised mass ( MAM ) (with a trailer up to 750kg).

😂 was it that obvious which ones i liked best? It’s a tough choice as there are so many fabulous campers on the market these days. The rear lounge campers are popular in the Uk but usually have less storage. Theres always a compromise to be made.

Another very lovely video. Doolough Valley is both very beautiful but very sad. It witnessed a dreadful loss of life in the 1840's. It is generally accepted now that it was so much a famine but more a genocide. Ireland has always produced an abundance of food, but what has been discovered in the Port of Cork records was that all this food was being shipped to England by the English landlords. Yes the potato crop failed due to blight but the English landlords didn't divert food to feed the Irish.
