Step 1: Find amazing library book & check out Step 2: Put library book on nightstand & maybe read intro to 1st 2 chapters. Step 3: Realize it's due, skim majority of it for info nuggets (I read mostly non-fiction) & return it, swearing to not check out more library books Step 4: End up with 3 more library books while leaving xD Wish I were making this up. all too common in my life

Im too autistic for paperback books. Cracks and bends in my books make me genuinely not want to touch because it’s damaged (at least to me.) Plus paperbacks have different textures and quality 😣 I’m the type that reads with my book in my lap leaning against a pillow or wall.

I read The Idea Of You. It's a beautifully written and told story and it's worth reading.

I wish I could find books about women in their 50’s and 60’s in a love story. I hate reading a romance w people in their 20’s and 30’s. Thank you for addressing what’s lacking in book choices!

I usually read 5 books at a time: - something that teaches me something (personal development, finances, history, etc.) - a book about science (written by a science communicator such as Bill Bryson. So not a textbook :D) - a fantasy book - a non fiction novel - one to learn more about my hobby (gardening, sewing, knitting, travel) At least one of these will be an audiobook. Whenever I want to read I usually grab whatever I feel like that day. I read about 2 books a month and find that that’s a good amount for me to enjoy reading and also retain most of the story/information the book was trying to get across.

It's funny the five most popular archetypes in romance novels are werewolf, vampire, surgeon, pirate, and billionaire lol it's always about the woman who has a lot to offer but kind of hidden that goes after an aggressive male thats suddenly tamed into a reciprocal relationship. It's the classic female pornography fantasy. Basically women like a man that has controlled aggression mixed with a confident, productive, generosity

I agree 100% with everything you said especially the spines! I would add that since we own a lot of books, and I'm the pone wqho packs them everytime we move, it's a lot easier to pack and move paperbacks from one home to another.

The Neapolitan series isn't about friendship although this is thrown about a lot. The plot centers around friendship and explores other themes through this.

I prefer hardcover but those are expensive. I dont know why. I am a printer by profession so i know it doesnt costs so much to produce hardcover ones over the paperback. But what can we do

Thank you for sharing some ideas of what is near Open Books, for instance. I'm planning a trip with my young adult children and it's frustrating having to plot everything on a map by myself and figure out what we might be able to hit in one Uber ride :) such a little thing for locals, but huge for visitors!!!
