Great review video, Stacey, and excellent "Tips"!! I love the Flexee Looms and, like you, use the Skinny more than the others. As far as brioche goes, I just did a YT search and Tuteate (www.youtube.com/@Tuteate) has some tutorials where she uses brioche to make hats so you could do a flat panel without connecting the ends. I just used the terms "loom knit brioche" in the YT search bar to see what came up. I already knew Tuteate had some brioche videos but there are others as well, some in double-knit. Thanks so much for sharing this very thorough review of the Flexee Looms and sharing your tips with us! Much appreciated ❤❤❤

What kind of yarn pen are you using?
@stitchesbystacey22 күн бұрын
LOL! not a yarn pen, (I'm too cheap 😆) just a regular pen from the dollar store!! I chose something that had a tip narrow enough to fit between the pegs - that was the only requirement. I created a video "Loom Knit Faster use a pen tube" check it out, if you want to know how to easily thread the yarn through - it's only about a minute.

@1962tami2 ай бұрын
I'm actually working on a double-knit scarf using short-rows! It's a new pattern by Alastair Post-Quinn (Fallingbox Designs on Ravelry). I've never done short-rows on a double-knitting loom before so this is a new technique I'm learning. I've done short-rows before with flat knitting just not with DK. It's a learning curve for sure, but worth every stitch :)

I want to make a shrug, but the cuff is the same size as the sleeve. My plan is to use 18 pegs on a 5/8 loom for the cuff and then increase to the required 36 pegs for the sleeve. How do you suggest that I do this?
@stitchesbystacey2 ай бұрын
I'm assuming you're working with a Chunky Flexee Loom.... There are 2 ways you can do this: 1) If you want a drastic 'poof', beginning with 9 links (18pegs), insert a link between each current link - effectively doubling the sleeve diameter within 1 round. OR for a more gradual effect over 3 rounds..... 2) Insert a new link every 2 links for the first round (5 links/10 pegs) - you'll be one off. Then, 0 links the next round & finally insert the remaining 4 links (8 pegs) between the 4 spaces you DIDN'T insert them on the previous increase round. Hope this helps!!

I can't tell you how excited I am for this! I've been searching for an answer to this question for the last two weeks - and here you are, thank you! After I made a beautiful toe-up knee sock that fit my foot perfectly, I couldn't get the cuff passed my heel! I thought maybe it was the bind off so I ripped that out and no, the whole cuff wouldn't fit. I ripped out the cuff and was able to get the sock up my calf, but it was a little snug and I think about 10 more stitches would have been perfect but I had no idea how that was possible on the round loom. This is going to be a game changer, I can't wait to try it! Thank you, thank you, thank you!

How might i attach the ends together? So the whole piece is like a circle
@stitchesbystacey3 ай бұрын
The best way is to use a circular loom. This video shows a how to create a flat panel on a rectangular loom, however, if you switch to a circular loom you'll be creating a tube, capturing/weaving in the end as you go around. Let me know how it goes!

How do I make a blanket like this?
@stitchesbystacey4 ай бұрын
@aprilkilroy7405 use a larger - or longer loom. For a blanket, I'd recommend the Flexee Loom by Kb Looms purchased thru them directly or on Amazon. That will give you the most options. Have fun!

@stitchesbystacey4 ай бұрын
@@aprilkilroy7405 Been thinking....I'm assuming you'll be using acrylic yarn - Due to the e-wrap curling the entire project, I'd suggest 1) add a 5 peg/row border around it & put in the odd row of purl.... every 5-7 rows purl perhaps?? Purl stitches don't curl. However, if you're planning on using a natural fiber ie)wool, or alpaca, then a standard wet block would be more than fine & the curl will come right out.

Does this technique work a loom knit hat? Thanks in advance.
@stitchesbystacey Жыл бұрын
It should since I usually do it at the end of my project.... Though, now that I think about it, if the cast on edge is the same one that's folded up to make the hat's brim, I wouldn't recommend this technique since that would make it more difficult to match the pegs/stitches up. Hope this helps! s
