Very helpful. I appreciate the extra information given rather than just a demonstration.

What kind of silk is that? I bought some but it was much more fine than this stuff
@PotomacValleyFlyFishers3 жыл бұрын
Don says these are the type of silk body material he uses for soft hackle flies in order of priority: 1. Uni-floss 1X 2. Danville's flat wax nylon 3. Unistretch 1X (while this material does not have the sheen of silk, it is awesome for making wet flies, since it can be spun to create a segmented abdomen or counter-spun to create a flat abdomen) 4. Monobond (tends to be to bulky for tying smaller patterns)

Very nice, watched you all the way and subscribed...however you need to get the camera lens closer and the whole frame should be the ‘Fly’ itself, being ‘created/crafted.’ I was constantly wanting to se it ‘up-close.’

Thanks! Appreciate your feedback and totally understand what you're saying, but please know our equipment is very limited to capture these videos (we only have an iPhone!). Our main goal in creating these for our fishing club was to provide a way to continue fly tying instruction even though we haven't been able to meet in person for over a year.

Very nice Don. Keep the vintage flies coming. Like yourself, I enjoy sharing tying videos of flies created decades and even century's ago.

Adding the peacock is a nice touch. Great attractant.
