Awesome cover,Jeff, do you share tabs/chords of your work? I like that you don’t use a capo in your version.

I play along with my guitar to the original recording and I find Micheal stipes vocals on this song kind of throw me off. Do you find that as well?

I think the main difference you're hearing is the particular body types of the guitars used. One being a dreadnought and the other a grand auditorium style. I'd use just the dreadnought and swap the strings between recordings. Nice playing though dude and nice guitars!
@JeffLaneMusic10 ай бұрын
Thank you and good point! I do pretty much play the dreadnaught most of the time, just like the way it handles after all these years 😎
@cjgsicknote10 ай бұрын
@JeffLaneMusic yeah I feel ya man. I'm dreadnought all the way, I've got takamine's atm but always looking for something else to bankrupt myself with, I'm looking at you martin hd-28!!

Thanks for the review. This helped me so much with my decision. I had lights on my guitar and it sounded very tinny , hollow , very very bright and the D chord just sounded bad. As soon as you played the med strings, my ears perked up. They just sound right and sound like a guitar. The volume , the tones everything even and nice with a bit more punch. I’m very much into singers and song writers, folk, and 80/90 country. I slapped the mediums on my epiphone Texan inspired acoustic electric and right out of the box and first tune up , they gave me that sound I was looking for. Thank you.

I feel the exact same iv been using light strings must of my life and I just recently bought a Guild D-260CE Deluxe and they just don’t sound right for the guitar a little too tinny, looking forward to trying out the mediums soon !!
