Nope. Giclee printing is pretty much the next best thing to an original.

My Printstation calls this "fine arts" print, so why professionals dont use "giclée" as a description ? Is there a difference ? (its 12 or more pigments with fine arts btw)

Why are prints traditionally signed in PENCIL? This seems so impermanent to me, or could accidentally be smudged or something. It feels like people use pencil only because they have seen others do it that way.

Because ink is a horrible way to print.

Thank you Karen for this very instructive video. I had no idea what a giclee print is, and I just received a giclee portrait as a gift. Wonderful explanation.

Hey Karen, would like to know if this sort of print is suitable for a print of digitalized art work? Like perhaps with varied brush strokes and textures. Any thoughts on this? Tia!

Done! I found your channel when I was investigating Giclee printing - I like the way you are doing your online marketing. Of course I really like your work too But you seem to have a very clear strategy for your "business of art" which is inspiring to me.

Thank you very much for explaining that to everyone. I’m a crafter of little decor pieces. I wanted to craft a flag sign or framed photo for my dad and I looked on pottery barn website to honestly dupe one of their products if I possibly could. Well..I had to look up a word and it led me to you, an artist! Thank you for explaining and beyond that I’m captivated by your water color paintings!

This is somewhat confusing so how does one differentiate a giclee from an original when making a purchase on the secondary market? Any info would be appreciated.

hello, I saw an instagram post this morning with the caption giclèe printing on archival paper. I had never heard the word before, so I looked it up and found your video very helpful. When you spoke about resolution, you spoke about dots per square inch. I believe you said your Epson printed 5,000 dots per square inch, but you didn't state the number using for giclee. Why?
