It would be nice to streamline the cutting measurements and builds. Just painting the five rubber trash cans you could buy at home Depot, finding a boxed crate already built, stenciling the letters/numbers with a darker green paint, painting and using pool noodles from the dollar tree as the extension cord, for the bulbs... Just spray paint some oversized beach inflatable balls. Glue them down. (To keep the trash cans from moving, put bricks or gravel into the trash cans from wind)

Do you think adding a clear plastic sheet on bottom would help reflect light or take away from the lake?
@holidaylightingcreations14 сағат бұрын
That might help but it would collect water when it rains

Crook! These are the same Home Depot ones just slightly modified.
@holidaylightingcreationsКүн бұрын
We designed these in March with our manufacturer. They were inspired by a video I made of larger ones 2 years ago. These are made of fiberglass, not plastic for commercial grade use and will last a very long time. Fiberglass items are very expensive to make. This video was posted before Home Depot even put their Christmas decorations out so we had no idea they would have a similar item.

How to do connect the lights?
@sethhendrix49254 күн бұрын
I've watched a couple of your videos and overall I would say - these tutorials are not for the general population or average person's home. This build construction is way over the top in terms of structure, materials, and sturdiness. It would be more relevant for a permanent installation (i.e. amusement park or a holiday village at the mall, etc). The average person could build similar items will way less cost, cheaper materials, and simple tools. And another thing to consider - where would these be stored after Christmas? You can't really disassemble them easily. And even if you could, you would need a huge shed or storage facility to keep this stuff in the rest of the year. Not very practical. But thanks for the video.
@sethhendrix49254 күн бұрын
This would cost a FORTUNE to make - easily over a thousand dollars. That styrofoam block alone costs several hundred dollars. The average person also doesn't have the tools that would be needed for this. Thanks for the cool video - but I think most people could achieve something similar with much cheaper materials and easier build methods.

No, they are for outdoor use. If they do get too much water in them, the gfci on your main house plug will trip for safety.

How does this hold up in wind? I have a very similar concept in 3/4" pvc, with 4' between sections, 2 X 10' vertical sections to make each arch, plus a 2' section to raise it up enough to drive under. I found in suburban Denver, winds over 20mph were common, and really stressed the arch, even though I am using 3/4" versus 1/2". I had to tie it down to the ground using stakes and rope. Having your verticals over rebar should definitely help. We also ended up duct taping (with white tape) each joint or they would come loose and/or break. And even with all of that, we had to use large trash cans leaned up against the side against the prevailing wind to keep it from coming apart.

I did 3/4” last year and sadly mid season it didn’t stay up enough. I think I’m going to redo with 1/2” this year. Unwrapping the lights makes me want to cry but I can’t think of any way to shore up 3/4”

Very cool, but I bet they're heavy and would've liked to see them built so they could light up instead of using Styrofoam. I'm also betting the Styrofoam is probably pretty easily damaged.

The panel was around $90 which makes both presents and the lights were around $200. Add zip ties and pvc and the total is around $350 for both.

Best tutorial I've seen online. I'm going to build an archway this year for my 4 year old granddaughter. She will get a kick out of it when they make there way here to central Texas. She has a blast w/ all my other decorations but had a blast for over an hour playing in an archway at a walk of lights last year. Have a Merry Christmas 2024 🎄 🎅 🦌
@vanderhoff66fu27 күн бұрын
This is great and all but who needs to spend all that money on the gift box I mean four sheets of plywood that's like 80 bucks as it is you're talking about 100 bucks just to make one box that's insane plus if you don't have a pickup truck to get this stuff home or the tools you're screwed
@erinlemmon169114 күн бұрын
If you want a giant prop, you gotta shell out some money either way. No different than the people who spend hundreds on stupid inflatables. At least this is a unique piece, but yeah it would take a bit of effort (and a couple tools) but I think it'd be worth it.

I dint understand the extra wire left over to wrap , how would you move to other branch from there ? I have ordered 110feet
@holidaylightingcreationsАй бұрын
If you are referring to extra lights left over on a branch, I usually space the lights 4” apart but since there will be too many lights for the branch, I space them 8” apart then turn around and go back when I get to the end of the branch. Then you just wrap the lights between the lights you just wrapped to make it consistent.
