I tried using D2D at first. I had a whopping 0 sales. I've only been able to sell ebooks in KDP, and they have the promotions and greater royalties if we are exclusive to KDP. Until KDP's monopoly ends, Hail Hydra.

Starting in June, every single new book or edit to existing titles would be blocked immediately upon submission (I mean within seconds) without the typical “please fix X before we will go live” email from KDP. After asking for help from the content review team and basically being told they blocked the books and don’t owe me an explanation, while taking my hard earned royalties, I gave up a few months ago and took all my tittles offline. But I really enjoyed doing it and have actually felt saddened having felt forced out of KDP for what feels like no reason.

Is there any control on how many reviews you want on the platform. I believe an initial push to 15-20 reviews will be helpful to get some exposure and credibility on new authors. I haven’t used the service at all. But from your explanation and the comments, I understood that it works more like a review swap that could potentially mess with the Amazon algorithm. So I wanted to know if there is any capping and a wee bit of control to the reviews that I might receive?. Let’s say I put a max of 10 for the month and review only 10 from my end. Will that work as expected? This service is good as long as you don’t overuse it. All in all, in case if the aforementioned scenario that I expected works, we can use it once to get few reviews to hog the lime light and then stop it to avoid falling in the risk zone. What say?

I worked with the non-fiction assistor that helps to 'Launch' 'Books' -- which was on the award section of your video at 2:55 when you mention the 'Red Flag'. Do you know anything about the 'launchers' of non-fiction books, or were you just highlighting their article, by mere coincidence. Great info! As always!

I gave Pubby a try this week... I feel I will be bombarded with fake reviews. Most of the books on there are AWFUL. There was ONE great book I read. But the one that I left 3 stars for, because it was utterly misrepresented and only contained 1 of the things it said it did... Man, I was disappointed with the book, I really wanted to learn the info in the book. Only... the info wasn't in the book. Reviews on amazon: All 5 star reviews, greatest book ever... Dude, the book was so horrible, if I wouldn't want to be at least a bit nice due to it being a pubby book, I probably would have even given it 2 stars. I know that my 3 reviews that I asked for will probably come back with the most fluff, not having read the book at all, and just being positive for the sake of being positive. I reviewed every book on pubby honestly and went through them properly, but it really seems almost everybody on that platform has no spine and just gives 5 stars and scans through the book and comments random blabla... Reading a book takes time. It's possible to read it in the given deadlines, but how many people do that? Some books give you 2 days maximum, that's pretty wild for people who are busy. I set that time aside and did it properly. But I could affort doing so. It seems like a total NPC system where practically nobody leaves real reviews. I read every book that I got, and I only downloaded books that I was interested in. I think most people just grab anything and write whatever they think is good as a review. My book got reviewed in less than a day... It's an fairly long psychology book with tons of psychology principles, deeply analyzing breakup studies, infographics, worksheets.... It's a very complex book. Clearly, nobody read my book. I doubt they even read a single chapter. I haven't seen the reviews on Amazon yet but I'm not too hopeful they are genuine.

Just heard you talking about your 007-esque party scene! Love it! One of my goals for 2024 is to watch all the James Bond movies!! (I have to purposely create fun goals for myself, lol). I've been waiting till fall to tackle them because, for some reason, they seem like a cold weather watch. 🤷‍♀ Anyway, sprint 3 was productive! On to sprint 4!

I joined Pubby for all of a few seconds but got put off by the 'subscription will end in 10 days and then you'll be billed annually.' I couldn't trust myself to remember and I don't like those set ups. I'd rather try it for free, see if I like a service and then choose if I want to pay for it or look elsewhere.
