I agree about seeing sharks. On the one hand it’s disconcerting seeing a fellow apex predator that big up in shallow water but at the same time it’s encouraging because he’s there for a reason, and it means you’re in an area that’s likely to hold gamefish. Same goes for Dolphins and Gators. I was up a tidal creek with my kayak and came around the bank and found a big gator sitting there next to an S-curve with a nice deep hole. I posted up against the opposite bank from him and started casting in the hole and sure enough started catching Speckled Trout one after another.

Baitcaster are the only way inshore.. caught 25-35” snook 20-30” reds no problems. Always grabbing my Revo x on 6’6” med rod. I choose it over the dc curado and daiwa tatula all good reels but that cheap ass revo feels nice.

Dang brother, another awesome video!! I always used a bait caster w 20lb mono, dont ever backlash w braid, lol..a mess!! Little thing I did w my fluke was use paneling nails for the weight and glass rattles for sound and sometimes I would dip the tail in red or chartreuse . Skipping flukes under mangroves was my thing, spent hours at my swimming pool skipping for practice , all about thumb control and the angle that fluke first hits the water..Your red house boy here..Great to she Grace enjoying the Everglades!! Thanks for the video Christian and God Bless brother!!

That’s some awesome info. Nails go into the fluke correct? May be more discreet then the weighted worm hook
@dannyd-rockmahaffey308719 сағат бұрын
@@christian_masterson Yeah, a small panelling nail cuts out all the friction.Just insert it into the head of the fluke just next to the eye of the hook or mid body of the Fluke..Dude this is top secret info dawg!! LOL..

Christian, you may not have gotten any monsters but you did catch fish in an unknown area. That's exactly what you have to do so you learn patterns, where they are according to weather, and what they are eating or biting. I watch you because you remind me of a younger version of myself, I could probably be your Gpa at this point in my life. one thing I did used to do is keep a journal of my outings with weather conditions, tides, wind, catches and bait used, etc. It helps allot to be able to check on various spots, especially if you plan on possibly being a guide in the future. Keep Them Rods Bent!

🌴Hey my friend , well not every day on the water is productive but you did get a few small snook so ya didn’t get skunked, it’s still just being great being out in nature I have a tendency to start tossing everything the tackle box at em if I don’t get hits hoping for the magic response I guess it’s a gut reaction , then the questions you ask yourself am I fishing the lures to fast or to slow , are they tucked up way back in the mangroves? 🤔 just trying to figure things out , and could I have did or tried something different, at the end of the day ya just chalk it up to a learning experience and wait for the next shot out on the skinny water , thanks for taking us along ,great vid as always see ya on the next one 👍🏼

Chokoloskee always the best. I had a pretty good day Sunday, started out pretty slow with the cold but once i went towards some areas with muddy bottom like you’ve said in some of your videos, I saw the water temp go up.
