My SL1210 MK2 is my baby from new bought from my favourite store in Adelaide SA Derringers back in 2010 still going strong I customised the Ground Lead to eliminate it and only have internal ground wire. I just hookup the RCA Leads power cord and away it goes using the Shure M447 DJ Scratching cartridge. Tracking force at 3 grams but can work just as well at 2 grams. The height adjustment I was told to set it at 4.5 the Cartridge must run parrallel with the platter the sound quality is awesome will never sell it love it to bits.

I may end up getting this instead of the Fluance Rt-85N for my first turntable. Seems like an easy set up and easy to use on a daily basis. Or so I hope.

I would consider the denon dp 300f, it is also available used as it is an older model. You get the same automatic turntable and Features as Shown plus upgradeable System (weight can be adjusted, System can be removed which cannot be done on Audio technica) and anti skate functionality. It also is Standard size (sale as 70x but not 60x) to any other hifi components and comes in Black or silver. It matches my Harman kardon vintage pm 645 perfectly. Only thing you dont get is the optional Bluetooth but of course you could add an external Transmitter and the cables are fixed and not detachable. I have to add that the denon does not have the arm lock, so if you move it a lot around it is a bit unpractical but no worry if you just leave it ständig somewhere fixed. I have it and I have to say it fits my Bill perfectly and I even upgrade it with a ortofon 2m red. Depends of you like the looks but alone from functionality the denon has everything you need for future upgrades if you want to try it out. I am very happy and I can report the automatic functionality is very convenient, albeit a bit slow sometimes (it's quick er to stop it manually than waiting for it to do it.) hope that helps and if you are not mega into the looks of the 70x, ID give the denon a look.

I replaced the stock felt mat on my Project Debut III with the official Pro-Ject cork mat. However the cork is much thicker so now the tonearm/cartridge "reaches up" a tiny bit when touching the record. I don't think that's right, don't I have to also adjust the tonearm height somehow?

Is the tone arm supposed to be slightly at an angle? I dont know if mine is defective, also have to change the levels in the stereo because its louder on the left channel.
