Gene & Paul may have been the career driven / sensible ones but they were entirely different personalities. Ace’s humour is sublime. He may of been drunk & high but he had Snyder almost falling off the sofa, in hysterics. When Ace cracks the big lines , like about the cows, and people crying about spending money seeing a KISS show, all of them break out laughing. Gene & Paul may of not been able to steer the interview in the normal way, but they were laughing as hard as anyone at the brilliant cracks from Ace.

Its a known fact that Eddie was in the pit at MSG in 1977 watching Kiss live and watching everything ACE FREHLEY did performing his famous guitar solo.! Its also a fact that he was also very aware and a fan of VINNIE VINCENTS guitar playing.! How could he not.? Vinnie did everything he did.!

Well I’ve listened to interview of people on KZbin who were in the Pasadena area to see Eddie when they were mammoth from 72 to 74 the Van Halen 74 and on! Quite a few of them said that Eddie’s style of tapping didn’t show up till 1977! Which you can listen to shows from 74 and on! It’s just one of those things you hear how his style evolved! ⚡️space ace Ron⚡️

I haven’t seen clips of tapping prior to Ace doing it in ‘75. Maybe someone did it, but I haven’t seen it.

I know the fingertapping techniques heavily popularized by Eddie Van Halen. But even Edie himself never claims he invented it. He just said when he was learning to play guitar , "oh I can do it like this". I have great love and respect for Ace guitar works as much as Eddie's guitar works❤❤❤ Nice comparison Clip Sir ❤❤❤
