He's been on some really random projects, like the Chuck D "No" remix we put up a little while ago (I think they were tutored by PE, so that makes sense), Funk Flex, the Red Hot Lover Tone album. But yeah, I think the plan was always for Busta to go solo, Elektra did the same with Grand Puba. I agree though, it seems to not always be about skills in this game.

Funk Dr Spock is a beast, I never used to know how good he was in the early 90’s before he really became a big name. One of the GOATs and a true original 💣👌

The first album was so raw - EPMD funk but with this gutter element. And the whole split personality concept was really fresh for that era. Probably my favourite, but the evolution through "Dare Iz" into "Muddy Waters" and beyond is a super nice finesse of his style to a wider audience. 🐐

@ Yeah back in the late 90’s I only really knew him from his work with Method Man, I didn’t realise he’d been around for nearly 10 years. Now I’ve discovered it I really like his stuff before ‘96, first thing I heard was Time 4 Sum Akshun, used to cane it on my headphones when I was training heavily! Crazy energy! 👌
