@pudintain9656 I didn't get that far but I think it's a few bends upstream. Based on the water movement it may actually be pushed back, the water is flowing in reverse. Likely due to the flood waters receding in lower areas.

I want to program the same radio but can’t get past the cps password. Do you what password is typically used ? I cannot program for this area.

You can try Program > Reset default data and write to the radio. They don’t have a default password so if it has one it was set by the previous owner and you may not be able to access it. You can try a firmware update to clear it also. I don’t remember the process since it was a long time ago but you can google it.

Stupid question…. Does the back-to-back approach relay encrypted voice and OTA encryption? I saw this described in a Hytera tech bulletin several years ago and always wondered why? Is the cost savings there? By the time you buy 2x mobile transceivers, good power supply, db-26 connectors and cabling, rack mount chassis or frame, etc.. is that worth it? Compared to just buying the RD series? Thanks and nice video!

NO it doesn't, but not because its not capable but because they decided not to allow it. They did this to push people to purchase their mobile repeater instead. The interface is actually fully capable of this its just locked out. Back to Back in this configuration is similar to older analog setups, you can however achieve the same result just about by using the same encryption key on both talk groups. This setup is good if you have some of these or got them cheap and want a cross band or shft pack repeater, it wont replace a good purpose designed repeater.

I planned on donating them to my local volunteer fire department, but I think I’ll keep a pair to try this. Thanks again.

Did you replace appriser.dll? I have instructions in the comments. As far as I know it will work with any version because windows pretty much builds it the same. But i would recommend using the ARM version of windows. You may want to grab and install the windows 10 arm version first instead of 7

@@hecker9851 Then you probably didn't replace the dll at just the right moment its kind of tricky. Alternatively if you have a usb install of 11 you can change the dll file right on the drive before you upgrade/install

@@hecker9851 Basically the updaters install directory will wipe the folder and begin to redownload the install files, you have to replace the dll just after the installer files are downloaded in that directory but before it launches the updater again

Instructions: Install Parallels 16.5, Install Windows 10 for ARM from the Insider Program(or other sources). Sign in to Windows 10, Run windows update, it should start downloading the Windows 11 ARM update. It will launch the first time and tell you that it can't install because of TPM, leave that window open and bring up the task manager, find that process and open file location, open a separate file explorer window and browse for appraiser.dll in. the windows system 32 folder(or search h the C drive). With that .dll file copied open the windows 11 install directory, windows update window and the update failed window, its tricky you have to replace the dll file after the failed update window is closed, once its closed you will see windows update restart the download, try several times to replace the file ctrl-V in the update directory until the installer relaunches, even if it copies successfully keep pasting because the new download may replace it. if you get it just right before the updater automatically opens again the installer will finish the upgrade successfully.

To fully communicate digitally the talkgroup information they need the feature unlocked by Hytera. This is duplex repeating with the talk groups and ids programmed separately to each mobile.

Not sure, I don't have any experience with those but they should be able to at least duplex with a universal adapter.

take a look at the PD985 it does stand alone pseudo trunking it would be interesting if the MD785 can be hacked into doing it then you would have 50 watt output instead of the PD985s 5 watt

Yea I seen that but its expensive to get enabled, could take one and feed into a amp but they couldn't handle any serious duty cycle anyway. I think they realized they would be shooting themselves in the foot if they put it in the mobiles. They marketed the mobile repeater instead which was like $1000 more than a mobile even though its a mobile without a face plate even(sold separate)

the only way to do it in this configuration is to set both MD785's to pseudo trunking and program channel one in the handys with solt 1 and channel 2 with slot 2 on the same freq .in the handy make a scan list with channel 1 the talkback channel .note both MD's must be on the same freq with separate antennas

You cant do that without having them sync timing which is a feature that these are capable of doing but its locked out through the software, they never fully marketed and offered this feature. I think it can be done but I dont have the time to do it, and for my purpose the current setup is fine.

It is a repeater in the "classic sense of things" its a cross freq duplex repeater actually. Channel negotiating is multiplexing, no one is taking $600 ebay mobiles to make a Full flagged DMR Repeater when you can buy one for $1000, This is setup the exact way homemade repeaters have been made for the last 60 years. They are only used as a base station or to extend range. And you wouldn't have two separate antennas either in a multi channel repeater you still have one antenna with two duplexors for proper split isolation.

And I get what your saying about "solving" but this video was for a forum reply and is missing some context. The good thing is you can essentially have two work-groups just as you would with a traditional dmr repeater, difference is in the ID from Group 1 to Group 2. But anyone who would have enough people to really need to do that would just buy a repeater. Ive been remodeling my house so I didnt invest much more time in it and DMR Repeaters are now abundant and affordable so not sure its worth the time to get it working .

I actually was able to pass text to the TX it just doesn't successfully transmit to the handheld on the other end although you can see it key up. Would take some additional programming to use the A/B time-code pins.

The frequencies are shown in the video, 10mhz split. The cable is available on ebay and other places just search for it. Self made is ok, just follow the pinouts.

hi michael i am kp4sc. i have hytera md782i i tried to programming this radio but not read . only said model version dont match. my soft is version 8.5.05.008 na2 but i tried other version and nothing. let me know what is my error. my cable is new and pc identified on usb port

Read first then make changes and write(program). The default software does not have specific code plugs loaded. You read first to view the options etc your has available to make changes. I have 3 different versions among 6 radios.

Of course it would be better avoid it or trasmitting with a dummy load. But if you trasmit for a few seconds it won't be real damages. Anyway each repeater has two radios inside, assembled in a similar way. Nice video mr. Lazarus !

Is that passing the Handheld radio id through to the receiving handheld, OR is the receiving handheld only displaying the id from the transmitter of the repeater, also is this passing time slot info so you can have a two time slot transmission?

Single slot although these are capable, they wont offer the programming to enable it anymore. I was working on getting the software unlock from someone but it fell through. But DMR repeaters are so cheap now its not really worth the time to get it working. In all practicality though you can essentially have two separate work-groups with IDs, just wouldn't identify individual IDs to the remote work group.

Are you sure you need high pressure and flow pump for cooling? Simple brushless turbine circulation pump is much better option and you don`t hear it.

Sasa Djuric For the large loop I had I needed the extra head pressure. plus this is self priming and variable, it took 5v and ran very quietly while moving lots of coolant. It worked well, I still have the pump.
