I first met Jason and Jeff this past September at advanced stamp class in orrville. Learned a ton, met some cool people I keep in contract with. I also just took the profitable stain class last week with you guys. I LOVE what deco Crete has going on. I plan on more trainings also, it’s fun getting away and staying in a hotel having a few pops in a place I’ve never been. The whole experience from start to finish is great.

That's Awesome! I have known Jason and Jeff for a long time now. I still can't get over how much they include me in their trainings, events, etc. They are great people to know. I was the first non-deco crete employee to teach with them. There are only two of us that are not employees of deco crete that get to train with them. It is a huge honor to me.

This class was awesome! The man, the myth, the Legend! It was exciting getting hands-on experience next to an accomplished artist. By just applying basic math, laying out a design concept became a sinch! Jeff and Rick made the classroom learning material easy to absorb. The hands-on training drove the concepts home making you feel more confident to give it a try when you get home. Thanks, Rick for the wealth of knowledge that will allow me to add an additional, income source to our business, well, at least after some practice of course!

@@mvance225 it was a great class! I love when my students get my vision. It really is a lot easier than people think. The comment I get usually from either my students or potential students is they get the general idea of how I lay designs out. Their biggest issue is understanding where to start the design. Once they start it isn’t that complicated. I think finding where to start is the easiest part of my design methods. I made that pretty clear this class. 😁

Are you using a cone tip?
@ConcreteMystique
@ConcreteMystique 5 ай бұрын
You can use about any tip. Typically you can use a basic Chapin Sprayer with a conical tip. But if it is a flat tip it would still work fine.

The house we moved into has a concrete patio, porch and sidewalk in a light pink color with standard gray concrete trim. We also have a larger concrete pad in the backyard in a terracotta color (it abuts the light pink concrete pad and appears to be a newer pour). All of the concrete is in great shape. Would the sponge-rolled stain provide enough coverage to make all the concrete match, or would one need to apply a second coat? Also, the sidewalk and porch in the front of the house have a design stamped into them and appear to have spots that look like sealer that hasn't been worn off. Do we need to remove the sealer before staining, and does one apply the stain in the same fashion to the stamped concrete? Does this stain also work on brick? Our location is SoCal-LA County. Thank you in advance.
@ConcreteMystique
@ConcreteMystique 5 ай бұрын
Yes this technique would hide the different pours of concrete and make it all look the same. You would need to remove the existing sealer on the stamped areas first. No this would not be a good idea to apply to brick. It will not bond for long.

Great Informative Video Rick! Can this type of Acetone Stain be done on a Border of an exterior driveway? or is this only for interior concrete floors ?
@ConcreteMystique
@ConcreteMystique 9 ай бұрын
Yes it can be used outside. Some dyes are not UV stable and only used for polishing. The dyes in the video are UV stable and can be used outside. But remember, dye bonds to the sealer not the concrete. So when the sealer wears off the dye follows. Acid stain is the only true long term stain for exterior projects.

I meant purist as a compliment NOTHING hurts my soul more than Elizabeth not enjoying Hank Williams and Waylon Jennings with me The Mongolian throat singing has a little overlap with vocal fry, but if you are into rock, some of the rock bands that incorporate growling has a bit of overlap too. A great way to dip your toes into that would be the band The Hu (Mongolian dudes giving a little nod at The Who) They were the first (and only) rock concert with a mosh pit that I've been to. But there are Russian singers and Nepali singers who do the throat singing too, it's an ancient art form and something in me pulls me toward the old stuff man I'm also really into the band Heilung, which sings in Latin and old norse and old English and other dead languages and makes every performance a pagan ritual. Then there's Laboratorium Pieśni, a polish women's group that mostly just uses harmonized voices in a folk fashion. And of course, DakhaBrakha, experimental ukrainian quartet I highly recommend them, they are among the most kick ass music you'll ever hear. Look up their tiny desk concert and just let it play. It doesn't matter that i understand zero words, the music tickles the soul AND GIVE ME A PLAYLIST!!!😮

Every project is different. A rough estimate would be $2-4 a sq ft for overlay, $4-6 a sq ft for stain and seal, $2-4 a sq ft to add design work. Just depends on size of project.
