Hi!! Thanks a lot sharing this video! It really makes me happy that you can actually take a flight with your cats. I have two questions because we'll precisely be in the same situation in a couple of months. 1. Where can you find places that can let have 2 pets? I have two cats and all their documents are ready, but I've heard it is somewhat difficult to find a place to accept two. And 2) did they wanted to go to the bath during the flight? And how did you do it? I'm just crossing finger that everything will go smooth for us
@yingahhh
@yingahhh 8 ай бұрын
Hi there~ Glad this video is helpful! It's exciting and nerve-wrecking at the same time isn't it? :) 1) Do you mean where to find apartments that will take cats? If so, there's no easy way and you have to ask if each owner is willing to accept. Some might ask for more deposit $, but most will say no. You can also work with real estate agents and they can help you filter out the ones that will accept. 2) We stopped feeding them food about 6 hours before the flight, waterproofed the bottom of the bag and added pet pee pads in case of accidents. We brought a portable litter box, more pet pee pads, and some litter in a large zip lock bag onto the flight. I took each cat individually in their bag to the bathroom, set up the box with pee pad and litter, and let them out of the bag. But they didn't use it even after I waited for a long time, probably because they were too nervous. All the best! Just prepare as much as you can and it will all be fine :) I'm happy to answer any other questions~

@@yingahhh it is nerve wrecking that's for sure! But we're pretty sure it will be worth it. We want to start a new life in Korea or Japan for a while now and now that we have the opportunity we're going to take it, doesn't matter if it's difficult. There has to be someone who can help us on having our boys comfy in an apartment. We're planning to move to Daegu if possible. Not everytime you'll see a couple with two cats moving abroad, so I will definitely ask you more as the time goes by! Love your vlogs so far!
@yingahhh

@@665Iron Thanks for watching my videos :) Happy that your wish to move here is coming true, and Daegu sounds great! If you can find someone trustworthy to help with the apartment situation it will take a lot of stress off. I would caution against finding only after you arrive as not many temporary accommodation will allow cats. We had an advantage in that J was already in Korea before the cats and I to look for apartments, so he could negotiate and talk to landlords. It's a huge project moving with the cats but it will all work out in the end, keep me posted <3

@@yingahhh I definitely will!!! Jmmm. I'm Not sure if we can afford one trip only to talk to landlords :(. But maybe we can search for someone online? We do have some friends over and one is real state agent but on Seoul. Maybe we should start there
@yingahhh
@yingahhh 8 ай бұрын
@@665Iron I see, if your real estate friend can help that would be wonderful! He/she can at least help you vet through the listings or the local agent. It's just a little harder to know the neighbourhood, building quality and such. For those, you could consider joining some local (Daegu in your case) facebook groups for foreigners. I found these groups to be very helpful even till now. People generally are very willing to give advice and help if they can, since they have also been in the same boat. They can recommend good areas and apartment complexes to live in.

@yingahhh

Hi there, thanks for watching~ The area behind the pool where you can walk out really far into the sea when the tide retreats has really fine sand, so that area is fine for barefoot. But other parts of the beach closer to the villas and resort has coarser sand, twigs and tiny rocks, so would be best to have footwear. Hope that helps and enjoy your trip! :)

Hi, great vid.. may I ask if I plan to walk from Himeji station to Himeji castle, exploring the castle, then walk back to the train station.. how much time is sufficient? is 2 hours enough to explore the castle and coco garden including the walk from and to the station?
@yingahhh
@yingahhh 9 ай бұрын
Hi there, thanks for watching! 2 hours was just enough for us to get there from the station, explore some of the grounds and the main building, and walk back. We didn't really stop to read the information boards in detail, but took our time walking through each floor of the main keep to see the architecture and details. It was not enough for us to go to the garden. But if you tour fast and don't take a lot of photos/videos I think you can get the garden in. Hope that helps!

Great video. I grew up in that area, I felt like Prospect Park was my backyard. The only thing I take issue with is the "sprinkle of gentrification". Its more than a sprinkle, sadly that area has lost a lot of its culture over the last 10-15 years.

I am going in Sept. From osaka to himeji to kobe, then back to osaka. May I ask what time you departed to himeji, and did you feel rushed with your itinerary? Sorry, I'm asking a lot lol but I'm hoping to leave 5-6 am each morning to beat the rush hour 😅😅
@yingahhh
@yingahhh Жыл бұрын
Hi there! No worries, happy to share our experience 😊 We took a train from Kyoto around 9.30 that morning for Himeji and arrived at the entrance of the castle around 11am. Since you're leaving from Osaka, you'll get there faster. We skipped some smaller buildings and the garden that was part of the ticket, and left Himeji around 12.30 for lunch in Kobe. The castle was the only sight we planned that day (Kobe was just to eat and see Chinatown), so we did not feel rushed. It depends on your travel style - if you like to explore every nook and cranny of each place and hates crowds (I used to be that), then leaving early is a great plan. The castle only opens at 9am though, so I don't think you need to leave as early as 5-6am, unless you want to get a slow breakfast? Hope that helps and feel free to ask anything else~
