I was one of those returning vets. This song was inspiring to fellow vets. Telling someone how short you were was always a talking starter along with where are you from. Music was a salvation. Still don't know how to respond to "Thank you for your service, today". Bitter sweet.

This was part of the movie, "Hamburger Hill". A platoon lands in the A-Shua Valley and fights an NVA stronghold. It was said, to probably be the most accurate, Vietnam War movie? I think it came out in 1988-89?

Kamala Harris campaign official song! Get ready for WW3 boys and girls! Your generation is being called to the front lines!
In Viet Nam I saw way to many killings 24 hours day and night, bombs, mine fields, the rain, the heat of the jungle, this was over 50 years ago, I am still a mess us kids at age 20 killing in Nam was a f.. nightmare. We came back to our country, who treated us like shit .For those of us who made it back to the USA, we were hated for doing a war job we were forced to do

I find it amazing that the raw power of the American war machine had such a hard time against some tunnels and bamboo traps. Still, at least they got a taste of justice over there. 🫡

Quick, name ANY OTHER Animals song other than "House Of The Rising Sun"! Can't, huh? That's why this group is a PERFECT example of what's bad about radio: Overplaying these two songs to death while completely ignoring everything else they ever did.

My father was a medic in Vietnam 69-71 first air Calvary (Big Red One) didn’t Cary a firearm. Received silver and bronze stars. NEVER wanted to talk about the war, never wanted to see any war movies. Agent Orange gave him cancer, kids cancer and now dementia. The VA is finally helping with his end of life care. War is hell.
