While the show did get some things wrong or take weird interpretations, THIS was based AF. Time and again, Mathias shows he still has some of his humanity left - right up to the end when you can see him visibly regretting nearly killing his own son Adrian. The scene that follows later with Isaac is WILD too. Time and again, man spits in at the chance of redemption.

I haven't watched the show. However, from what I've heard, there's no way the author wanted people to actually see dracula as the villian
