Me, Pakistani, learning tiếng Việt : Oh noo, what if these sounds are hard to make? Me after the video: Half of these consonants sounds like the same ones in Pashto, I'm fine 😁 Also great video, had an easy and great time learning Vietnamese consonants 😊

ChatGTP says: in the d and r pair which are both pronounced /z/ in the Northern Dialect, "gi" in "giá" (price) is also pronounced /za/, not sure if this is correct.

However Vietnamese pronouciation is difficult. A very slight variation could have different meaning. Furthermore Many words used in conversation are not similar found in the text book. For example Ngay mai become mai etc etc!

You speak perfect English, but all the Vietnamese I know speak English with really heavy Vietnamese accent and tone, they sounded hilarious like something that out of this world, I ask them not to speak that way, but they couldn't help it, I suppose they have been program to speak in tone from birth, that it become permanent in their brain.

Overall this is probably the most comprehensive & easiest to understand video I’ve seen on the basics of Vietnamese pronunciation. I should only have to watch it a few times before I have the alphabet memorized and that should make studying the rest of the language a lot more doable

nhà thương (Viet+Chinese) and nhà băng (Viet+French) were replaced with Chinese words, bệnh viện and ngân hàng respectively. And a Chinese word, phi trường was replaced with sân bay (Viet+Viet) . These replacements doesn't seem to happen in a simple rule. But I suppose some Viet words of French origin will possibly be replaced according to less speaker of French in Vietnam.

A quick question from a curious learner here ! In one of your examples i heard you used. Em yêu Anh Here you said, using anh to Someone a couple of years older than you. My question is. How much older should the person be before you use anh in your example. 3 years? 1 year? I think i heard elsewhere that all you need to be is just being older with a single day. Looking forward to your answer! Tâm biệt

Hi. We made this video nearly 10 years ago when we didn't have much experience. You could've been constructive rather than sarcastic on something made to help other people for free. Just saying :) Also, if you've kept watching, you'd have learned that the music was only on for the intro at the beginning.
