Should have bought one back then. Already had a 2000 Elantra wagon and loved it, and was trying to keep it as long as possible. Now that one has bit the dust and finding a used manual Touring is tough. Ended up with a GT N Line--was avoiding buying newer as the monthly payments are killer and don't like all the electronic gizmos that can fail, but hopefully I'll have it a long time.

Just bought a 2010 model here in Toronto, in red. Same as the one described here. Car is in mint condition! No rust at all. 176,000 kms. Looks and drives like a new car, all for $3500. An absolute bargoon. Also came with spare Hankook winter tires on steel rims. Think we're going to have this car for a long time.

Bought mine brand new in 2011 and just reached 200,000 kms, very reliable. Only downside is the engine reving too high at highway speed (5 speed manual trans) which makes highway trips noisy.

got a 2009 version, I personalized mine by upgrading the multimedia system to an android headunit, upgraded all the lights to LEDs even the interior lights ( much brighter white lights) put a Jesus bumper sticker on and I'm set. I got it for $2500 in Feb of 2020 and it had 90,030km. It's a white one.

How's it driving nowadays? I have a 2010 Hyundai Elantra Touring 4 speed Automatic Transmisson (Yes I know manual but they're way too hard to find where I live and my father can't drive manual only me and my mom can.) My dad bought the car almost 6 years ago in 2011 with 88 miles on it. I got the car in April though once he bought a brand new Honda Civic. It's a really great car, the only problem it has had is the power steering going out but apparently Hyundai had a recall for that particular problem so we got it fixed for free and haven't had a problem since other than regular maintenance such as the the timing belt and it just had it's brakes replaced at 90,000 miles since my dad drove the freeway quite a bit, the dealer even said they could've gone another 3,000 or so miles and the alignment needs to be done now as well. It had 83,000 miles on it when I got it in April because my dad also loves to drive a lot. Now it has about 91,500 miles on it, I haven't been driving that much since October. Love that car though.

Hi, yes, BIG yes!! 120,00 kms now and totally NO problems. There was a little glitch with the r/r door lock, BUT I got the extra 7 year warranty and it was covered, so that was nice. But other than that wonderful! I just tinted the windows, looks super cool that way and really keeps it cooler inside for sure. And just so you know I'm not a super picky type of person, but overall the car is awesome, and the handling is priceless, just fly around the corner's, great at changing lanes, never had a car with these type of low profile wheels. And I heard as well when these cars come in the dealerships, they sell super fast, guess they're still in demand. Lot of people wished they still made this car, for the price and what you get, good deal.

I have a 2010 Hyundai Elantra Touring. Amazing vehicle. However, I rarely see them where I live which I don't know why, because it's an amazing car to drive. The only thing that happened with it was the power steering going out on it, but it ended up being an issue on every Hyundai of that generation so we got it fixed for free. It's an amazing car for me.

Don't you think that the engine is loud? I test drove one recently and was really put off by the engine noise at highway speeds. I may still get one and apply soundproofing to the engine bay, though.

@greeleykid You buy with cash and sell it while it still has value. Not counting the initial cost for the first car, you end up paying about $2000 a year to drive a new car all the time. If you need to present an image of being classy or well to do, it's the way to go. A real estate agent is a person who would be in that catagory. Cheers.

There is a great deal where I live right now where all the cars are on sale with 0% financing. The accent is going for $9,999 and since I am a cheap student I was leaning towards that, but the touring also caught my eye because of the space. Therefore making it easier to fit my gear in the car when I go snowboarding.
