I am not of fan british colonisation but we can't deny that they have educated us and while shah Jehan was busy making the Taj Mahal, they were building education institutions. Mughals haven't paid enough attention to the education sector.

They did not educate the common folk but instead the elite class who they wanted to use as helpers to rule and enforce their will. The Mughals and other local rulers developed the subcontinent while the British pillaged it. There is a vast discrepancy and difference in the two.

Nothing can be further from the truth...the last thing they wanted was to educate us... They destroyed our univs, maimed our skilled workers and looted our wealth... All IITs were built post independence and every thing built by the British in India was only to serve their own vested interests
