A bit of background info on this video: The story of Emperor Ai and Dong Xian referenced and reinterpreted here is anything but positive, despite what I have seen many claim over the years now. In fact, the author who wrote it down didn't even mention whether the attraction/love was mutual and the story is in a chapter about people who gained favor of the emperors via illegitimate means and this could, like in this case, be due to looks. In the story Dong Xian is straight up character assassinated and blamed for the downfall of the Han Dynasty, even the mildest translations of the story leave no doubt that the author considered him a bad guy. And at the time he allegedly became the emperor's "favorite", he was 20 sui (19 years) of age, aka an adult by law at the time and the emperor was 24 sui. And despite all the claims about alleged imperial chinese tolerance about male homosexuality, relationships between adult men were a no-go, or between teenage boys for that matter, I have seen so many stories about them and they were always negative. Either they are straight up villains, not human (aka magical foxes) and/or at least one of them is dead at the end of the story.
