Thanks a lot! for these series of solos, we chose not to use calls, because in a traditional context, they're not used. It's also an interesting way to focus on the dunun cycle :)

C'est Konkoba ou Kassa ? Quand j'entends le kenkeni on dirait un dunumba
@djembevideos7 ай бұрын

Your videos are awesome. Thank you. One suggestion. In the edit give some consideration to volume of the djembe. In this case it is making hearing the dundunba challenging. GREAT WORK AND MERCI
@djembevideos8 ай бұрын
You're welcome, thanks a lot! As for the djembe, do you mean it 's too loud? In the mix it's 6 dB lower than the dununba, which is a lot, so I'm not sure I understand correctly.
@DarrylFranklin8 ай бұрын
Maybe it's what I'm listening on...a phone....but djembe is still very (too?) dominant for optimized learning of the lower frequency dundunba. State of the art video in any event ;)🎉
@djembevideos8 ай бұрын
A phone often has difficulties to render low frequencies. We put a lot of attention in the mixes. Here on hi-fi speakers, monitoring speakers and MacBook Pro speakers, the dununba is really clear. Anyway, no problem, thanks again, greetings from France!

Thank you for the high-quality video. I want to mention to other viewers/students that the 60 BPM speed is good for learning and practice, but if you want to hear it at closer to performance tempo, click the gear icon at the bottom of the video player, select "playback speed", then 1.5 or 2X. Good to learn it slow, but most West African rhythms really come to life at a faster tempo.
@djembevideos8 ай бұрын
You're welcome. Thanks a lot for your comment, you're totally right. On our website, all the rhythms are filmed at the average speed they're played in a traditional context. Most rhythms have a small tempo range in which they're always played. The 60 PBM versions are in our METHOD section, made for learning and practicing.
