Well, no. The soprano is. The mouthpiece is so tiny you'll have a hard time with intonation. Bari needs a looser emboucher and a lot more air. Alto and Tenor are the easiest.

how do i know what the chord tones are if i made up the lick?

I'd recommend starting with the chords first, then write a melody that outlines chord tones, rather than the other way around. At least at first, until you understand chords/chord progressions more.
