The EuroStar train to France initially ran from Waterloo in 1995. From my office I saw the Queen, British Prime Minister, French and Beligian Officials, open the terminal travel on the train through the Channel Tunnel to France. It was a bigger part of my careeer than I appreciated at the time and learnt heaps from lovely brilliant people. Hope you are making the most of the opportunity to learn, and shenanigans. Pure memories age so magnificently!

What a lovely comment, thank you for that ☺️ I saw it earlier and did a deep dive into Waterloo station. I had no idea the Eurostar ran all the way up to 2007! That’s amazing. I wonder what it was like entering the city that route

I knowwww, 😭 I’m already grappling with leaving, I think I may find my way up to Newcastle eventually. I was going to move out a bit further from London but train journey is so expensive

@@afloridagalabroad It is difficult, I know. Luckily I have able to work my way up as an accountant in Industry, very portable, takes some hard work starting out, but is mostly about people and being very aware of what you do. I would recommend it to someone 'engaged, without an ego, a desire to get engaged and contribute. Drop me a line if you have any questions. I only started on it by chance, did something completely different initially.

Next time, definitely stay in Bakewell. From there you can walk 5 miles through Monyash to Arbor Low stone circle, or only 3 miles to Monsal Dale - you have to walk up Monsalhead, then turn around and see that view.

I've been to Whitby many many times and my favourite time to go is in October especially around halloween as the castle has a dracula performance and we go to see that almost every year, so many people come around and there's food carts a before show and a museum and gift shop next to the castle that you can walk through after the performance, it is very windy most of the time but I think it adds to the atmosphere. :
