I've been there four times, it is an emotional ceremony, seeing the names of those with have no known grave, many boy gives food for thought.

Many men died going over the top of trenches like these so that their children could go over the top without a care in the world. Respect to the defenders of all that is righteous and good!

Grâce à la bravoure des soldats canadiens à leur sacrifice ainsi qu'aux autres soldats alliés qui ont pris d'assaut La crête de Vimy en ce mois d'avril 1917, j'ai pu naître dans la commune de Vimy libre en 1948

Thank you Brian, so pleased you posted these, vids, I was the Northumbrian Piper from the Royal Regiment of Fusiliers and hoped someone had filmed that evening, your pipes sound terrific.

Thank you. My dad was the piper, I just followed him around filming as much as I could. I wish the camera I had then was as good as the cameras today so I could have captured a better quality video. Regardless, both your and my dads pipes sounded amazing and really added to the experiance. He still can't believe he was given that opportunity.

The Maple Leaf Forever is TEN THOUSAND TIMES better than Oh Canada as our true National Anthem. The second hides the sacrifice of our brave men and women who fought and died for the sake of others.

This is why I never play publicly, or let anyone record it. There is ALWAYS a curmudgeon like this... that no matter how perfect, no matter how much it cost, no matter how much practice.. they can't simply appreciate the tune or the player for the moment... they simply can't help murdering the effort over some perceived "pity". You sir, are a worthless shrew of a man that didn't deserve this pipers least effort. The rest of us loved it, so pound sand.

I had the honour of marching the Menin Gate, with my cadet’s. We participated in the nightly ceremony’s... to this day it is the biggest honour I’ve ever done in my life.. it was hard trying not to cry in formation, when we heard the last post I had a chill go up my spine... let’s never forget the fallen.
