My grandma is Hókna and Haida so I'm not but she's pretty cool with her traditions. Nice seeing what all her cousins still do. She leans more towards Hókna so I never learned much about Haida.

And the tool that pulls up quick. You think he's there to help stop it. I expected him to dash out of his truck and pull off the one on top. But its just to get a closer view I guess. What a turd.

My adopted sister was Maureen McCartney born in Masset in 1942 and the government stole her and took her away to an orphanage. Freda and Jim Mullen adopted her. Dad was Irish-Cree and Mom was English-Scotish. I am Russian-English and all my adopted brothers are a mixture of first nations tribes and european. Maureen met her blood family and I was so happy for her and grateful for Man Above and Earth Mother interceding in her behalf. She had breast cancer and survived the chemo and radiation treatment but her immune system was weak and she died of pneumonia. She was cremated and like all our family was laid to rest in Howe Sound where we grew up and had much pleasure canoeing, boating, fishing, swimming, diving, and collecting shell fish, kelp and seaweed. I would like to visit Masset and meet her family again and share my knowledge of what a rare and beautiful human being she was with the younger generations....... My Sister :) <3

This lunatic describes lifting the walls as exciting. As an Ironworker, if you're going to die it's probably going to happen while lifting a wall.

One day before I am old I would love to visit Hadia Gwaii and walk through the forests and along the shore. I find myself drawn to the artwork and strangely find it in odd places over here in the UK. Respect and admiration for taking the stand to retain and restore your culture.

@@smithyt2886 You're probably drawn to this place because well....the islands that we now call "The UK" were once full of temperate rainforest. I mean you're ancestors seem to be romanticized as nature loving forest dwellers. Might have something to do with it.

Christianity is Death. They did the same thing to my Lakota mother. I am more than just a little bit angry. What patience and dignity these people have. I hope their language and culture endures forever! Joey

Fuck outta here. As if Christianity is the only contributor to the hate in this world. Just because you have a personal experience with it doesn't make it so in the global sense.

Can you blame the ship for its crew? Christianity itself is a decent religion, however the people who practice it have elitist ideals and have slaughtered millions. I can’t imagine how many cultures have been killed by Christians but I am happy to see mine was resilient enough to beat and survive past the violent invaders attempts to destroy us
@alexandrahenderson4368

I agree. A religion is nothing more than it's followers. They embody what interpretations are accepted and christian followers showed that their god is a terrible one for not fixing his people and being irresponsible with his words. Decolonize your mind and follow the ways of our ancestors.

Haida, quietly, steadfastly, civilized, patiently trying to restore a balance that will save all our lives. Beautiful people, and a beautiful culture. I have no words to describe how important these people are to our global thinking. We can't live without nature. They are the best stewards of the land and sea. I love them, I love their courage.
