Hi Shady, Should all actions mentioned in the weakness chart be planned during the CELTA 5-week period (will do CELTA online), or can this be planned later on? I just completed watching your 4 assignments' videos. This will undoubtedly be very beneficial for my CELTA course accomplishment. Thanks a lot. I will continue to follow your videos and advice.

In the Pronunciation Grid there is an error in the second line for "I want to be like you" Arabic students would say: /aɪ wɔnt tə pi ɫaɪk ju .... "pi" When they should say: /aɪ wɔnt tə bi ɫaɪk ju/ ..."bi"

Can Shady or someone explain the definition and differences between "Productive Skill" and "Receptive Skills"? I'm not sure if - Receptive skills are Reading and listening. - Productive are Speaking and Writing?

Hi Shadi, I'm preparing for CELTA online. I have started reviewing all the grammar with "Grammar For English Language Teachers" (Martin Parrott). Then I studed "Leraning Teaching" (Jim Scrivener). Now, I am studying each assignments, trying to understand the expectations. Your video are great. I wanted to compliment you... very clear, concise and helpful. I have been teaching for 20 years in Asia, South America and the Middle East. I decided o pass the CELTA diploma and I'm so glad I found your material. I just finished the whole video and I'm sure it will help us succeed. Thansk a lot.

ok. So by being specific it also shows that you were actually at the course. For example, if I never attended the course, I could still give general statements, like, I have to work on my speaking skills, or my tutor is happy with my progress. From what you have explained , mentioning specific names, tasks and timeframes it shows an actual experience. Thanks so very much

Thank you for the video on planning aims. Having gone through a few of such videos posted on KZbin, I noticed that different CELTA trainers identify, interpret and write the main, subsidiary and personal aims of a lesson differently. Some of them have even more aims on their list of aims. As a consequence, the outcome of a lesson, no matter how 'accurate' one may consider their aims to be, is subject to the person looking at the lesson.

What an excellent explanation of Task Based learning or teaching. I would focus on feedback and correcting errors (self, or peers corrections) I noticed during the task instead of language focus in the Task Cycle stage.

Thanks for the video. So I have a question. if we don't wait for everyone to finish the task, and move on, what happens to the ones who haven't finished? Do we ask them to complete it from home? but these would be the learners who are weak, so they would need more help. Please advice

You follow the TPS sequence: Think, Pair and Share. So if they do not get it on their own, they get it when they are checking in pairs and if they don't get it in pairs, they get it when their peers are sharing their answers in the open class discussion with the teacher. So in all scenarios, they know the answers of the parts they did not have time for.

Nice video! I have two questions. In the first exercise, "This is the main profile photo for your page, and *will be shown* whenever *you post* as your page on Facebook. In the first sentence ** is it necessary a subject, right?, and in the second sentence in ** do we have to write "you post it"? Yes,No, why? sorry I wasn't sure about those details.
