love the map insert when you're finishing! curious, what is your fish finding setup?
@harrisDoes
@harrisDoes 11 күн бұрын
Thanks for watching! My fish finder setup is a Deeper Pro+ with my phone as the display. I really like the simple setup without needing a heavy battery and wiring in my kayak. The Deeper Pro+ gives me useful info like depth, water temp, rough size of fish (small, medium or large) and lets me mark specific locations with GPS. I talk a bit about the whole setup and do a gear breakdown in this video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/eZurpXWVj8ibqqc

I also heavily use Hookup Baits which is also killer for spotties. What are your go to baits?
@Stellarbaits
@Stellarbaits Ай бұрын
@@harrisDoes Mostly all plastics. I pretty much make all my own stuff now. My go to are usually swim or twitch baits of some kind 3.75-6 inch. Drop shot, jig head, or beast hook. Fished all my life but didn’t use artificial until maybe 2 years ago. Very intriguing how far bait makers have come. Cool video, dig the channel 🤙🏻

This was my first time out on big bear lake so I'm not sure where the bass hang out. I have seen a few videos on youtube where people catch bass on big bear though...Most recently, sin city outdoors posted one kzbin.info/www/bejne/sKfYaHenpd5rnrs&pp=ygURc2luIGNpdHkgb3V0ZG9vcnM%3D

Don’t think you need to gut the fish if you filet it

Good point! I wasn't sure how I was going to cook the trout and ultimately decided to filet it.

Cool. If you ever go back. Black,gold , brown silver and green pumpkin is the colors of Hookup Baits you want to throw. 1/16 is the right size. And when your paddling to your areas troll the Hookup Baits. Works very well for locating the fish. Ive caught trout from that launch all the way to the dam using that technique 👍

I heavily use swim baits in general. Gulp swimming mullet (curly tail), Keitech Swing Impact Soft Bait, and most of all, I use hookup baits (mostly 1/4oz).

This was a pre-existing internal leak (not on the surface of the kayak). It wasn't caused by a hook

How do you dig the deeper pro + fish finder and how do you attach it to your kayak?
@harrisDoes
@harrisDoes 2 ай бұрын
I actually really dig it. I just bought a long armed phone mount and attach it to the crate with all my gear that sits behind my kayak seat. I highly recommend the deeper pro+ if you're looking for a solid fish finder without having to keep a heavy battery in the kayak. It's just something you can charge the night before fishing and the battery lasts 5 hours or so

Glow green is the best for any calico bass really any green works but glow is so bright it has four effects just tossing it smell, taste, movement, presentation💯🫡 especially near structure where most spotties stay

What gear are you using
@harrisDoes
@harrisDoes 3 ай бұрын
In my latest video, I do a gear breakdown but to summarize here: I use a Hobie i9S mirage inflatable kayak. My rods are all 6.5 to 7 feet long with medium to light action. I use 50lb braided line backing with 20lb fluorocarbon leader line. For bait, I use 1/4oz to 3/8oz jigheads mostly with 3-4" swimbaits. My favorite is the 1/4oz hookup baits. I film on a gopro 11 and 12.
