My all time favorite song.....

This song was written by a man that lost his rich livelihood in the Chicago fire. He also lost a child from a horrible disease. He went on to send his family on a ship that sank. He went back to the dark waters where his family died and wrote this song.

These old hymns have so much more depth and meaning than most (not all...but most) of the fluff that passes for worship these days.
